DS recognises game but won't play

My Son's DS stopped playing DS games. It still plays the game boy games and it recognises that a ds game is in the slot but when we go to play the screen goes blank and won't boot up. we have another ds and have checked the game and it works. so it is the DS system. Any thoughts?

Re: DS recognises game but won't play

Check the connectors inside cartridge slot inside ds, verify if they are all aligned ( | | | | | ).

if any contact is bend, you must align it, also check for dirt or rust inside slot.

sometimes you will need to clean contacts inside. you must buy a cleaning kit to do it.

Can a DS and a DS light talk to each other? I have a DS and want to buy a DS light for my son. Do they talk to eachother, or do I need to find another DS? Thanks!!!

Hi, an old style DS and newer DS Lite are both compatible with each other. They will be able to play the same games, go on pictochat wirelessly with each other and also play each other wirelessly with games that support it, for example Mario Kart.

Hope this helps

Nintendo DS does not recognise games

Maybe it has got something in the nintendo games slot. My one kept not working and when I cleaned that slot it worked, there was a bit of tissue in it.

Nintendo DS message... "Unable to load data. Turn the power off and resinsert the Game Card."

Well maybe when you turn it on, it might be on manual mode. To switch it to auto mode, Press options then press the wrench and then find auto or manual mode and then, switch it to auto mode. Save the options and then it should play the game. If it doesn't work, blow into the DS game and then the DS game slot.
