Error message cannot find twain source and toolbox

Some scanners, you have to select the source Twain source) before you do the scanning. Scanning sources could be listed as:
scanner, printer,camera etc. So choose scanner and you should find the name of the scanner listed there.
After doing this step, go ahead and do the scan. I hope this will work for you. Best of luck.

I tried everything to solve the problem of "cannot find twain source".. uninstalled,reinstalled, tried canon downloads,bought driiver repair software, everything. never did find a solution ,but would not give up coz the damn thing used to work and still does if you test through control panel. i now use the scanner by opening windows publisher, insert picture,insert from scanner, then save as jpeg in pictures.dont know why it works but it does and i can now continue using my scanner.hope it helps somebody

Have you tried deleting the scanner from add/remove hardware under control panel? If not, try disconnecting it from the computer, then try deleting it, then retry the install one more time.
