Hey I had the same problem, make sure you CLOSE the cd before you eject it. If you leave it open you will be able to add more things to the cd in the future, but it cant be read on other computers

Only modern CD players will accept CD-R's or CD-RW.

It usually better using the burn software that came with the multi burner because it will be compatible with your multi buner. Windows media player burning cannot be compatible to all the burners on the market.

DVD wont burn with dvd maker gets to 99% then stops

HI THERE,
When was the last time it was working fine?

• Do you have any third party CDDVD burning software?
• Are you able to burn DVD's using windows explorer?

First I would suggest that you try burning using another DVD and check if it works.

Method 1

Try one or more of the following:
Verify that the DVD burner is connected properly to your computer and powered on, and that any necessary software drivers for the DVD burner are installed. You can check your hardware settings in the Device Manager by doing the following:

1. Click Start, and then click Control Panel.
2. Click Hardware and Sound.
3. Click Device Manager.
• Make sure that the videos you're trying to burn are not corrupted. To see whether the videos you want to burn is corrupted, try playing or viewing them using Windows Media Player. If the files don't play using the Player, Windows DVD Maker cannot burn them.

• Choose a slower burning speed for your DVD burner by doing the following:
1. Return to the Add pictures and video to the DVD page, and then click Options.
2. In the DVD burner speed box, select Medium or Slow.

Method 2

Check if you are able to burn DVD successfully using Windows Explorer.

Method 3

Check in the event viewer to know the cause of the DVD burning failure and post back with the details.

Hope this helps!

My dvd drive of acer 4520 is not working

I have seen such problem when you have apple itunes or quicktime player installed in Microsoft Windows Vista.Only unstalling the said softwares solve the problem.
Microsoft and Apple doesn't comes out with any solution till now.

but if you don't have itunes or quicktime player installed in your system,Try out the procedure below

Try to turn off the vista's burning feature.

It's not yours or anyones burners....just an update in vista which buggered the policies up

Go to your run command and type (start.....Run.....)
type gpedit.msc
Go to User configuration/Administrative templates/Windows components/Windows explorer
On the right pane, double click on "Remove CD burning features" tick the enabled button, then OK.
Reboot or logoff/logon to apply.

Hw can I burn the firmware download to a CDr using

You can't. The CD burning software in VISTA does burn an ISO Image, which is what the firmware update must be burned in. XP DOES do ISO, but not Vista. You'll need to download a free CD burning software (Google "Free ISO Image Burner"), then burn the firmware update you downloaded onto a CD as an ISO Image. Then, update the player.

When i try to burn a cd windows media player says connect a burner and restart

If you are running nero or Roxio then disable it first. Roxio takes over the burning capabilities exclusively. You will also have to reset the device to allow WINDOWS to burn CD's. Also make note that amediplayer burns WMA files that some players won't read.

CD is still blank after running the burn program

Go into your burner settings and uncheck the box that says erase or format disk before use.I had the same problem in Vista and that is what I had to do to fix it.

have you tried burning anything else besides burning songs in WMP11? try to burn something else first, like a few files on a CD using the drag & drop function of vista to see if your burner is indeed defective, disconnected or missing some files.
