Re: AWR1-1W

If you think sending your unit to Bose is expensive, just buy a step down transformer. 220-240V input/ 120V output...this is where you plug your US standard 110-120V BWR. Bit of hassle though, transformer has to go wherever the BW Radio go.

Good Luck.

It will Blow up :D Short out the transformer with some nice smoke out the back, its a very expensive machine and i wouldnt advise that.

Sanyo sound system built-in transformer amp usage

If no one has the specs on this transformer but you know the power rating, apply this formula: Power/Voltage= Amperage. It might not be a big help but it sure will put you in the right range. The other solution would be to obtain a schematic or parts list for the unit. Hope this helps!

I just moved to the US and brought with me a Bose Wave Radio/CD bought in Europe. Do I need a converter or simply an adapter? Thanks!

Unless it has a voltage selector or otherwise accepts 120v power, yes. Its printed on the unit somewhere.

We have bose 9 speaker system from usa 110v it was my fathers we have brought it back to spain which is 240v can you help ie transformers

Probably every electrical supply store in Europe sells tranformers for American (110V) gear.

Google "240 - 100 transformer Europe"

What's a Bose 9? You mean 901? Before you try to use it get the manual from and wrap your head around it's requirement for exclusive use of any amplifier.

300mA is marginal. On CD start unit draws a little over 400mA for about 1/2 second. At moderate CD audio levels the unit draws right at 300 and at full volume 400mA.
Be certain of the polarity and voltage . On the unit I have the wire with the white stripe is negative. If you are using a non-regulated supply, the voltage could be higher than rated. I am using a 9.5 volt non-regulated supply and after input filtering I have 11.5 volts across the input cap, that is rated @16VDC
A non-regulated 12VDC supply will probably exceed this 16VDC

FM/AM GE Digital clock radio model#7-4966 display bulb burned out

Geri, I recently had the same problem with my GE model 7-4966 clock radio. The radio manual states that there is a spare bulb included and stored on the underside of the battery compartment door on the bottom of the clock radio. To replace the bulb: 1. Twist the bulb bar handle on the underside of the radio to unlock and remove the holder. 2. Carefully pull the bulb out of the holder and replace with the spare bulb. 3. Place the holder back in place, twist the bar handle to the right to "lock" the bulb holder in position.
In case you can't find a spare bulb, the manual states "use only a GE259 or equivalent 6.3 volt, wedge base bulb. A clerk at Radio Shack told me she could get a replacement bulb.
