The lite dvd+rw ldw-401s has the very same problem most of the time.

You will need to check the master slave properties through bios.
IF your dvd drive is properly configured, then it will auto detect it.

Is your sys on which you have have your windows is fat or ntfs?

Please reply then i'll advise you further if your system still doesn't recognize r drive

Lite on DVDRW LDW-451S will not burn or recognise any dvd /cd media? Windows XP says device is working well. Any Ideas

Hi,

Here are some steps that can help you isolate the issue.

To check the functionality of your Drive try to boot outside windows, like booting to Windows Operating system, if this works then your Optical drive is working, if not then you have to replace it.
If it is booting up, try deleting the upper and lower filters, click on start, run, type regedit then ok. click on the [+] HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Control\Class then click on {4D36E965-E325-11CE-BFC1-08002BE10318}, then delete the upper and lower filter. then restart your computer. Also you can try different CD as sometimes optical drive are sensitive to the disc.

I hope this will be able to help you.

Thank you for choosing Fixya.

It want burn any movies that are downloaded. Liteon model LDW811S

Hi,

if it,s only downloaded movies, that won,t burn/Write.
I,d assume that the downloaded content, is Copyright Protected.
Other suggestions Are:- your CD/DVD Burner does not support the types of files, that are being downloaded. You could try a Video Converter Program. Or alternatively. Change your DVD Burning Software.

Dvd burner won' eject dvd

On the front of the burner there is a pin hole. Take a paperclip and unfold it so it's a point. Stick it in the hole and it should open the tray. This should FixYa!

Computer file doesn't play on DVD player

Hi, burning a WMV file to a dvd wont work on a standard dvd player due to the format, easiest way to fix the problem is using Nero, and selecting video disc and it will convert the file when it burns the disc to a playable format..

Have a nice christmas

Cant play DVD ROMs

you can try uninstalling the drive, by going to my computer, right click>properties>hardware tab>device manager and look down the list for cd/dvd drives, click on '+' sign and right click on your drive make and select uninstal. Restart pc and your drive will be reinstalled automatically again. If you have a cd cleaner disc run that also. Try to run the game again, although it may still not work as the drives laser seems to be out of line or simply run it's life, and a new drive is the only answer i'm afraid.
