its the damper vent door thats located in the upper left area of the refrigerator compartment and this door breaks and then cant shut to close off the cold air from the freezer entering the refrige, general electric has had a bad problem with these damper vent doors, now they have a new and improved or so they say damper vent door, its about $100.00+
Look inside the fresh food compartment and behind the control panel and there should be a defrost timer. Part number WR9X489 and that is the only reason that I can think of that would keep the fan running all the time. What I think is the contacts that normally open to let the freezer defrost are fused or welded themselves together. If compressor cycles and temperatures are OK (safe) that leads me to that needing replaced. I will look for the wiring diagram for your model but have found it hard to really get those answers from GE. But most timers are universal as long as the time of defrost and hours between are correct, Let me know, Thanks Sea Breeze
is your damper door between the freezer and refrige compartments opening and closing as you adjust the temp settings, they can become stuck open by ice build up,defrost the damper door and see if it closes then
the door stop on the bottom of your door is either bent or broken off. this si located on the hinge side on the bottom of the door the part number needed to repair it is WR02X11465 you will have to empty and remove the door from the refrig to replace the part. it is a fairly easy do it yourself fix. good luck and thanks for using FixYa Peyton
Your original repairman must have looked up a similar model without the snack door. The handle of couse would have also been listed, but this is difficult since A. You do not give your model number and B. (maybe not as bad) we don't know what model number he used when he ordered your door(s). Please list the complete model number of your refrig. (from sticker inside fresh food compartment) and I'll try to help.
