Question about GE GSL25JFR Brushed Steel Side by Side Refrigerator

Side by side stopped working but clicling noises every second two.

2005 GE Side by Side stopped working today. It Is getting power. Circuit board is making a clicking noise about every second or two. Also clicking by what I believe is the compressor(Metal obect at bottom mounted w/ rubber dampners.). Actual clicking happening at Electrical componet attached to compressor. Disconnected wires from module attached to compressor and checked connections. Every time the clicking happens the fan attached to motor moves slightly. Seems like the refrigerator clicking is happening to get compressor or motor started but it is just not starting. Looked for a reset switch or blown fuse but couldn't find anything. No other noises happening. Did all basic checks, adjusted temp controls, checked breakers, Hit compressor to get it started :) nothing worked. Any help would be greatly appreciated My side by side stopped working (not cooling) lights work, and making clicking noise. It had stopped cooling before, I unplugged for a couple of hours, and plugged it back in. It started working fine. About two weeks later, same thing. This time, more clicking and no cooling. Help please.

Ok the motherboard is malfunctioning. Ive observed this exact problem before. Replace the board and all will be normal again. If you keep lettig it click and click it may finally kill that relay that you descibed to me or even worse the compressor itself.

    After a careful inspection, i replaced both 470uF x 25V capacitor (c29 and c30, i guess - near the 7805 regulator)

I fixed my motherboard.

Board WKKT Model 0158-00-04
Board GEA Part 200D4854G013

I replaced both 47uF x 400V capacitors - one of them was bulged. The bad one was open, and the other still had it's nominal value.

I tryed to make the refrigerator work, to no avail.

After a careful inspection, i replaced both 470uF x 25V capacitor (c29 and c30, i guess - near the 7805 regulator). Both had around 0.5% of their original value, and i belive it was the source of the problem.

Everytime the processor tried to start the relay, the power level dropped and the motherboard "rebooted"... and thus the cycles and clicks from the relay.

The refrigerator got back to life!

There was a recall by GE on November, 2006.
Call GE at 18003861215, option 3. Mention the recall and maybe it's still valid a free replacement.

Get a new refrigerator. Mine has done the exact same thing twice in 28 months. I'm donating mine to charity and getting another brand of Refrigerator.

Not getting any water out of the dispenser, but its making ice

The water dispenser on my GE profile fridge stopped working for a couple days. The refrigerator and freezer temperatures have fluctuated over the past several months causing fridge items to periodically freeze and freezer items to periodically thaw. GE tech came today identified a bad circuit board, which he replaced for a cool $300. Ouch. Fridge is only three years old. Oh yeah, the icemaker also has a broken tab which causes it to jam every couple weeks. We have GE Profile appliances throughout our kitchen and they all work great except for the fridge :-( I hope GE engineers read this post. If so, get to work! LOL

GE Model GSH25JSRF SS is clicking non stop, the click comes from a small panel on the back right of the fridge. Started out that the water and ice dispenser didn't dispense. Then the clicking just came...

Is it still cooling? I had an issue where there was a clicking noise from the back panel and the fridge did not cool. Pulling off the panel the noise seemed to from a box on the circuit board. Turns out there was a problem with the controler board and after some research I found that the board was covered under a recall. GE ended up sending a guy out to replace the board at no charge. Pretty cool being that if was after the warranty had expired; but I guess it makes sence since there was a recall. Good luck.

Replace the mother board. (it's the board you heard clicking) The only thing you hear running are fans. Check your model and serial number with your parts supplier, as you may be able to get the board free. (only certain models / serial numbers qualify)
