DELL LAPTOP PP19L - INPUT POWER FROM ADOPTER SHORT CIRCUITED - TO BE FOUND OUT
One day, i found the working conditioned LAPTOP DELL PP19L did not function i.e. the input voltatage 19.5V DC did not enter the board from adopter. because, somewhere, it is found that there is a short circuit of +ve and -ve voltage. To the result, the glowing LED in the adopter did not glow and stopped when the power socket of adopter is connected to the LAPTOP. So, it is simply assumable that there must be some short circuit of voltage somewhere.
Also, the adopter is removed and switched on the battery pack, ispite of this, laptop did not get on. Then, when checked the battey pack with multimeter, it is in fully charged condition.
But, i don't know why it is not working. Kindly help me to troubleshoot the problems and suggest me the guidelines to rectify the problems occured.

Thanks for the response. But i have to state that I have already obtained the support link web, as u have pointed it now. When going through that manual, I can only get how to get the set dismandled and with only a few guidelines, it has been described, without any circuit diagram and tracing methods and guidelines to the point, it is required; now.
So, if you will kindly further guide me to trouble-shoot it by seeing the circuit diagram of the particular portion in the PCB, step by step, it will be easy to trace the error and rectify it positively. Kindly oblige with further guidelines.

Malfunction of input circuit: voltage delivered is too low. The batteries may
be faulty or depleted. Wait for a few hours, leave the UPS switched on

If thelaptop battery is more than 3 - 4 years old then the battery could be worn out.Rechargeable batteries have a finite number of charge and discharge cycles andwill lose their charge capacity over time, i.e. won't charge to 100% andgradually the charge reduces until the battery won't charge up at all. OR Thebattery shows a 100% charge but when the adapter is disconnected the batterydrops off to zero capacity in a very short time. If the battery drops to anunacceptable charge level then the battery needs to be replaced.
