Phone doesn't turn on past welcome screen(Motorola W490)

I updated my phone (Motorola W490) and not sure what happened during the update, but now the welcome screen comes up and then it goes black and won't do anything. To turn it off, I have to take the battery off.

I have a motorola w490 my screen has went white

Unfortunately it's "PROBABLY" time for a new phone.
I had a W490 as well as a friend of mine that did the very same thing.
For us it was the beggining of the end for an otherwise great phone.
Sorry

Frozen ''hellomoto'' screen on Razor V3c when turning on phone

You have a couple of options:
Take it to a motorola repairer or try to update the firmware on your phone. As you cant get it to go past the Hellomoto screen a hard reset would not possible.

I have a Motorola W490, and about a week and a half ago, and the phone is brand new, like a month old, and the problem started with the screen freezing a lot, and when I tried to close it, it still had th...

i'm so pissed i am in the exact same situation. i've only had my phone since late may, and haven't had too many problems with it. then last week it all began. i would set the phone down for a while, and whenever i would go to flip it open the screen would be either black or white. i then have to press a bunch of numbers or turn my phone off entirely to get it going again. yeah it's a piece of ****. ii've heard a lot of motorola phones have this problem. i'm going to take mine in and see if i can get a replacement. i also heard this just happens with a lot of flip phones, but i don't want to spend the $200 or so on a sidekick. blah. sorry i'm not much help, but i just wanted to let you know you're not alone.
