Re: P4 ugrade required

Sadly you wont find any 1066Mhz FSB processors for the Socket 478. The best you can find is the 3.4Ghz with 800Mhz FSB. It might be cheaper and also better value for you to get a Socket 775 based motherboard and Core2 Duo processor. The value range E2160/2180 processors or the E4300/4400 processors have been tested to be even faster than the Socket 775 Pentium Dual 3.4Ghz and they also use less power.

An article on socket 478 for you

Intel D865GVHZ (Gateway Hazelton) motherboard system cooling fan

This fan error message shows up when the CPU fan is not plugged into the CPU FAN plug on the motherboard. The Intel D865GVHZ
motherboard has a total of 4-fan plugs so it is easy to plug the CPU fan into one of the other fan plugs that is not marked CPU FAN on the motherboard.

All the factory fitted CPUs are having such heat sinks as previously u were having.
Check on the backside there will be small plastic covers where screws fit these could be removed by screw driver but u can purchase that heat sink or can use previous heatsink as well if it is working.

I need to find a replacement plastic cpu cooler mounting sockett.

I can tell you that the Socket 478 has been out for production for quite sometime now. Finding a new anything will be rather difficult. My suggestion is to either look on E-Bay for a similar PC that you can get the part(s) from, or check Radio Shack or other electronics outlet store. Good Luck!

Selling a motherboard and am not sure whether it is 1.6 gh or 2gh

yes there is a name and type number on your motherboard type in this at google and you will find al the specific data, but your clockspeed is controlled by your processor, so perhaps take the cooler off clean proccessor with a little of alcohol and read what is says.
