Re: TV turns off after short period off time

I have this problem as well-have to keep the house cold enough to keep it on.  I also have a box fan blowing into the right side vents (the side OPPOSITE the built-in dvd player).  It helps a lot to have the fan there, but if you put the fan on the left side vents you will have much more frequent shut downs.

I had this same problem with my Mitsubishi it is when you have fast on mode set it pre warms the bulb to much. I turneed it off and now the bulb has lasted much longer Setting the Power-On Mode feature You can select either Power-Saving or Fast mode. If you select Power-Saving mode and you turn off the TV, it can take several seconds for the picture to appear when you turn on the TV again. Power-Saving mode saves more power than Fast mode. See "Specifications" on page 66 for details. If you select Fast mode and the TV is turned off, the TV will stay in Standby mode for several minutes (see Note below). If the TV is turned on from Standby mode, the full picture appears immediately. To set the Power-On Mode feature: 1 Press Y and open the Setup menu. 2 Highlight Power-On Mode and press c. 3 Press b or B to select either Fast or Power-Saving and press T. Note: If Power-On Mode is set to Fast and you turn off the TV, the following will occur for a few minutes: • The screen (lamp) lights dimly; and • The fans continue to run. This is a function of the Power-On Fast Shutdown mode and is not a TV malfunction. If you do not prefer this, set the PowerOn Mode feature to Power-Saving. When the Power-On Mode feature is set to Power-Saving, if you repeatedly turn the TV on and off in a short period of time, the useful service life of the lamp may be shorter than the average useful service life (- page 63).
this is from your manual not my Mitsubishi please rate this answer if you felt it was useful.

TV won't stay on for more tha 10/15 seconds - if that

it is most likely a protection mechanism which turns the tv of incase there is a electrical problem inside. I would really suggest that you contact a local repair man and have the set checked.

No remote

The only thing that you are able to program without the remote is the language, channels, and time by pressing and holding the play and FF button for five seconds until the tv turns off, turn it on again and you will get what i just mentioned...

Tv will not turn on

Hello racecar3,

This denotes a power supply problem. It could be as simple as a blown fuse or as complex as a problem in your horizontal drive section of your Tv causing the shutdown circuit to activate. I would suggest that first you unplug the TV and do a visual inspection to see if you can see any blown fuses in the TV. If not then put the rear TV cover back on and then take the TV to a qualified TV repair shop to have them take a look at it, and repair it.

I hope this helps,
Thank you,

Tv wont turn on ???

sounds like a power regulator problem, a horizontal drive problem,or the horizontal output is shorted because of a bad flyback transformer. If your not a technician there are no user serviceable parts inside these sets and i would advise you to take the set to a pro and have it diagnosed as you could get seriously killed fooling around inside of a tv set. God Luck
