Have you checked to make sure your power supply hasnt got a fault. In the event of a motherboard fry up, the power supply should be checked and if in doubt change.

I have a motherboard from a Vicon Kollector CCTV DVR that has failed. The only markings I see on the m/b are yang an ya-3a e114139 94v-0. I am trying to find a replacement since the board is obsolete...

The only motherboard I find with those ID numbers is this puppy,

Or this one,

If this is the mobo in question it's probably one, or more of the Voltage Regulator Modules has gone bad.
(Voltage Regulator for the Processor. Two Processors, two Voltage Regulators)

Or perhaps one, or more of the Electrolytic Capacitors have gone bad.

A competent computer repair shop could replace them.

Laptop motherboard is fried

I have not heard of known issues. My suggestion is, if you are sure the MB has gone bad, is to look on E-bay to find a replacement. The price will be way better than going to the manufacturer.

I'm having difficulties with my AGP Card

If your motherboard shorts out and fries anything, replace it immediately. It is simply more cost effective to replace it than try to troubleshoot the card unless it has an obvious problem like bad capacitors.

We had lightening strike, power surge.

if the problem is not turned worse then the motherboard can be repaired easily.also the modem if faulty can be repaired or replaced as it wont cost much.but yes it is necessary for a technician to manually diagnose this to see the current state of mother board.

Sounds like it's going to die or its gone faulty,
Might need to replace it or take it to a computer store and have them check it out.

try and update your bios, hopefully your timings, were just messed up by the new memory, or you could try a cmos jumper reset.
