Question about Motorola Mobility i880 Cellular Phone

1 Answer

Horrible background noise

Just got a new i880 for the i880 that I had with the upside screen problems and 4,5,6 buttons that registered as *,0,#. Now I have text messages that take FOREVER to download and still have horrible background noise on the phone. It is kind of a wooshing and clanging sound that gets worse the longer the call goes on. I got a new SIM card yesterday since that was the only thing remaining from the old phone and that did not work. The noise is there no matter where I call from, inside or outside. The technicians said that they could not detect or duplicate the problem. Ready to throw this phone out the window. I have had an i880 for about a year and this problem has only been occuring for about the last 2 months. Should I switch phones or is there just something else wrong.

It sounds like the phone is still the problem you may have receieved a refurbished replacement... i would take it back to where ever you got it and have them replaceit again .
just remeber if the technician can not duplicate it they usually will not exchange it so try and make sure if you can when a nd how the problem happens so the technician can duplicate it. If you have to show them the problem your self.... Good luck

This is a known problem with the i880. If you can find a Sprint store they will swap it out for a new one for no charge.

the display is constantly inverted this would indicate a hardware problem that could be simply an incorrectly positioned magnet.
