Whirlpool DW is running but not washing a darn thing

My Whirlpool dishwasher model DU810SWPQ0 is only 2 years old and it's already giving me headaches! It runs through a wash cycle like it's doing something but doesn't wash a one dish. When it comes time for the water to run there's this high pitch squeal noise, but no water runs. I've checked the little flow thing and it's clear so is the food catcher. Any suggestions???

I too have this problem and my dishwasher is only a few years old. It is making a different sound, almost like mild grinding, water is going in but it seems to be stalling but still making noise. The detergent dispenser opens during cycle, a small amount of water goes in, can be drained but no washing-help! I am humbily unable to pay for repair right now due to a out of the blue crisis. Any suggestion is very much appreciated!

Dishwasher lights show "washing, drying, clean" like normal, but when it's finished I open it to find that the DW Detergent Pack never dissolved.

Make sure water is at least 120 degrees F.
As a test run water from the kitchen faucet closest to the dishwasher until it is a hot as it will get, put some in a cup then you can then check the temperature with a thermometer. OR you can just run the dishwasher to see if that helps.

Bosch SHX46A (6 years old) Selected regular cycle, pressed On and closed door. Cycle did not start normally. Pump runs, but no water is coming into the DW. I confirmed the water supply line is turned on....

From your description, I doubt that the problem is door latch is the cause.
The first thing that a modern dishwasher does before it begins to fill with water is run the drain pump.  It appears that this DW is not progressing to the next cycle (inlet water) and because the pump runs even when the door is open, I agree that the controller card may have failed.
If possible, inspect all the wire connections (remove main power before you do this) ... if there is a loose connection, the controller could do odd things.
Good Luck!  Please report back what you find, OK?

Our dishwasher has been running for over 2 hours.

Make sure the machine is in the normal cycle and the sani cycle is not selected. If the sanitize cycle is selected the machine will run for a long time while the water heats up . Go back to Best Buy and demand an owners manuel, don't let them get away with this. Also the machine is waranteed through Whirlpool and you should not have to pay for a service call if anything is wrong.

Whirlpool Gold model GU1200 will not start wash cycle

FYI, for anyone else with the same symptoms. I took mine apart and found that the seal on the motor shaft failed and over time corroded the motor shaft bearing causing it to failed. I ordered full motor assembly from the parts store.

Unit never washes...

Check water level:
Run the DW and wait for the main wash to start (water will fill. pause then complete fill) The water should be about 1/4 to 1/8 inch below the heating element. If not there..replace water inlet valve.

Whirlpool GU2400XTPT

I had a svc. tech come and he said I need a new "panel". Darn.
It's $133 plus labor. He said the "normal" button had shorted out,
especially since that's the wash I use all the time. It's only two years old, and I didn't buy an extended warranty. Oh well.
