ROPER RAX4232KQ1 Does not spin

It fills up with water and then starts to make a loud noise. It will drain if I put it on spin but it doesn't spin.

    After locating this Web Site I knew I had all the information I needed to tackle this problem myself. I'll have to say, I think it took me longer to put the cabinet back on the washer than it took me to replace the coupler assembly between the motor and the transmission. Speaking of the cabinet, when I went to the parts store to get the new coupler, the technician told me I'd have made a real mistake if I'd have tried to take the back off the washer instead of (as pointed out at your Website) taking the cabinet off, which never would I have thought would be the correct first step.

You most likely have a broken coupler between the motor and transmission. A new coupler cost around $10 and is fairly simple to replace.
Remove the two screws that hold the console to the cabinet and flip the console back.
Remove the two clips that hold the cabinet to the rear panel of the washer and unplug the lid switch harness. The cabinet will tilt forward and slide off.
Remove the clips holding the water pump and move it to the side.
Unplug the wires from the motor and remove the clips holding it.
You will see the motor coupler.
Make sure you can turn the gearcase shaft with a pair of pliers so it is not locked up.
Post back and let me know what you find out.

Started filling, made a loud noise, stopped filling immediately, door wouldn't open. I tried everything to get it to open. Running the spin cycle finally got the door open at the end of the cycle, though...

The washer drain the water if you put on spin. all electronically controlled washer won't unlock the door and or spin if there's water inside the water has to be drained out first.If the basket didn't move(no motor movement) and it finished the cycle, POSSIBLE problem is the motor control board. Whirlpool wtw5100sq0 clunks when put on spin cycle

Does the washer currently work fine aside from the loud clunking noise? Does the clunking noise continue or is it just one loud clunk when it starts to spin? If its just one loud clunk then that is not a problem just ignore it as that is the clutch spring releasing, it probably starting making noise from the grease getting washed off when the washer over filled.
However how did the washer overfill? That issue should be addressed too. Sometimes though, if the tub is not centered from a heavy load the water will spill over the back but its not really an overfill.

Washer makes very loud humming noise in spin cycle but does not spin..I removed clothes thinking it was very heavy and it did spin out but when I put clothes back it returned w/no spin and loud noise..now...

Either the control board or the motor has gone bad. Here is the diagnostic mode to run to look for the errors.
The diagnostic test is performed by using the Program Knob. To START THE TEST: • On non-digital display models, turn the Program Knob to start position, Drain/Spin. • On digital display models, turn the Program Knob to start position, Touch Up. • Press Pause/Cancel to turn off LEDs. • Within 5 seconds, press and hold the Option and Pause Cancel buttons until LEDs start sequentially chasing, then release buttons. 1. All the LEDs will sequentially light. Pressing a button below a light cluster will light all the LEDs in that cluster at one time to confirm functionality. 2. Turn the program knob (1) click clockwise from the start position. The hot water solenoid will activate and hot water should enter through the detergent compartment. 3. Turn the program knob (2) clicks from the start position. The bleach water solenoid will activate and cold water should enter through the bleach compartment. 4. Turn the program knob (3) clicks from the start position. The bleach and the wash water solenoids will activate and cold water should enter through the softener compartment. 5. Turn the program knob (4) clicks from the start position. The door lock solenoid will activate. 6. Turn the program knob (5) clicks from the start position. The door lock solenoid will deactivate and the loading door can be opened. 7. Turn the program knob (6) clicks from the start position. The washer will fill and tumble. 8. Turn the program knob (7) clicks from the start position. The washer will fill and spin (leakage test). 9. Turn the program knob (8) clicks from the start position. The drain pump and door lock solenoid will activate and the washer will operate in high spin. SAFETY WARNING: If power is removed during this test, the door can be opened. To prevent injury, DO NOT put your hands inside when the tub is rotating. 10. Turn the program knob (9) clicks from the start position. The control will signal the last error code.
Repost the error codes here.

My Kenmore 80 series washer just started making a loud Aihaiha electrical or motor type noise. This happened during a heavy load cycle. Noise was very loud. When I click to regular, delicate or hand wash....

The following are the reasons for the drum not spinning :-
* Test the lid switch
* Test the timer control
* Test the centrifugal switch
* Test the water level switch
* Inspect the motor coupler
* Inspect the drive belt (belt drive only)
* Inspect under the washer for soot (clutch)
* Test the motor
* Inspect the pulley
* Test the transmission

In the case of loud noises in the machine, the drum bearings might have been damaged and might need a replacement. Also do check the leveling of the machine. Good luck.

Buzzing - will not spin or drain water

This noise is probably the pump trying to start but will most likely be obstructed.Drain the machine manually by lowering the drain hose into a bucket or bowl and then remove blockage.

Loud clicking noise - wont agitate or spin

I had the same clicking noise. Turned out to be the coupling between the motor and transmission. A $15 plus 1 hour labor fix

Will not agitate or spin,makes loud noise during those cycles

Sounds like coupling gears between transmission and motor... they did away with the belt and went direct drive with coupling gears. It can pump water out but nothing else. water pump is mounted to front of motor is why it will pump water out.
