Re: Motorola Flash Mode

Can you hold down the center nav key and power up the unit? Then select Yes and perform a Master Reset on the unit. This should fix the file system possibly correcting the issue.

Is this a Q, Q9m, Q9c, or Q9h? Who is the carrier?

My moto q classic is stuck in a flash mode it says. its a black screen that pops up saying, motorola flash mode bootloader version BOOT_C_03.08.00R_MPAP charger connected please connect the...

Your system software / firmware has become corrupted. You need to download and install replacement firmware for your phone. You need to choose the correct firmware for your exact model and service provider / carrier for it to work.

I wrote fixya tip on how to do this a few months ago, the links are below. But don't use the verizon firmware unless verizon is your carrier - get your carriers firmware from Motorola's MotoQ website.

Or, just take it into your service providers store and get them to do it.

I hope that helps.

Phone is stuck on weird motorola flash mode screen

I can help you with your Motorola Moto Q flash mode screen problem.

What has happened is that the firmware / system software of your phone has become corrupted. When this happens your phone will no longer finish its boot sequence.

This is a very common situation with many phones: in fact, much of what I do here at Fixya is explain how people can fix their MP3 players, GPS and phones by reflashing the firmware.

The good news is that if you take your phone into your carrier's store, they can reflash the firmware for you right there (if they have a competent tech handy.)

If you are comfortable with computers etc, you can also do it yourself. Your computer will communicate with and fix your phone, even though it doesn't seem to recognize it right now - I've seen this many many times.

My only warning for you is that if you are going to flash your phone yourself, you need to get the correct firmware from motorola's site for your carrier. I just downloaded the Verizon firmware as an example - Motorola's website has about ten different carrier firmwares for their MotoQ phone.

I hope that helps.

My moto Q is stuck on flash mode: bootloader version: boot_c_03.005.00r_mpap I was told I could flash it on the motorola support site were do I go? and or can you help me flash it? When the phone is not...

That is a fairly common but horrible problem with those phones. Now your phone is "bricked". I would take it back to your carriers store and have them give you another one, also do some complaining. This can happen when it's left charging. The only way I have seen to get around it is to shut the phone off while it's charging then unplug it from the charger before turning it on. This "bricking" can also happen even when just installing an APP. First see if you can get it replaced from your cell carrier, if not the phone is under warranty and get replaced by motorola. Please take a moment to accept/rate my solution accordingly if you find this information helpful.
Thank you,

Moto q want trun on

Try taking the batteries out ( fully disconnecting them from the gold contact points) ... then put them back in with the charger already plugged in. It should go to that blue charge screen instead of turning on. LEAVE IT ON THAT CHARGING SCREEN for at least 5-10 mins. Now, Hold down power, screen goes black... then tap power about 2 seconds after screen goes out, and it should start up as normal. If taking the battery out has no effect, I would investigate whether that (the battery... being dead/unchargeable) is the problem. I'm hoping one of the two answers gets ya where you need to go.

Have you tried a Master Re-set when the phone is off? Hold the center key and the power button for at least a FULL minute to a minute and a half. You will see the provider's splash screen, but hang tough.

This works best with the device on a flat surface rather than holding it.
