Question about Bushnell Sky Tour Telescope

1 Answer

Lens came off-where do springs go?

I received a Bushnell Voyager with Sky Tour and my grandson unscrewed the end with the mirror and the springs came out. We have all the pieces, but don't know how the springs go.

Also, I am new at telescopes and don't understand how to start. You are supposed to use a compass and set it with the Azimuth??? All I see is either white or my own eyeball.

Any assistance is greatly appreciated. I have not even been able to use my new gift yet and am ready to cry!

There are a bunch of Sky Tour telescopes ---

which model you actually have??

I am assuming you have what is called a Dobsonian mounted reflector like this one:

Is that correct?

Can't see out of lense. Do you take both end caps off? How do you work it? It's new and the instructions are not forthcoming.

Here are all the manuals. Find your telescope- look down this page:

The MIRROR is the bottom of the telescope. The focuser is on the side of the tube and should be th UP end of the telescope. Remove the lens cap.

I think there is a piece missing

YOU THINK? and what piece do you "think" you are missing. How can we answer an incomplete question, with no description of the problem.

Which end piece do I remove, the one closest to the view finder ?

The end with the focuser is the UP end of the telescope. This is a reflector style telescope with a mirror in the BOTTOM. Take off the lens cap on the UP end near the focuser.

Most of these small telescopes do not have an operators manual-- however Meade maintains a web site for the telescopes with manuals. Find one similar to yours and download the manual for free. look in Customer Service --- Manuals
