Hi this is relitively easy to do has the port come disconected from the board if so take the back off the telly but make sure it has been switched off for more than 24 hours so that their is no electricity in the tell as they store power for upto 24 hours.
Is the old port damaged or has it just come off the solders.
If it is damaged you can buy these from any repair shop for next to nothing and fitting them is easy as all it is is two bits of solder you will need to unsolder the bit that have broke on the board.
Once you have unsoldered this you will see where the new one fits and how it fits.
Solder the new one in make sure its in the right place so that it comes out of the whole in the case at the back as getting this wrong will mean redoing it again.
This should be easy enough for anyone to do as long as you got soldering iron and some solder.
The only thing i will say is make sure you only solder where it need soldering if you get it wrong you could short the whole board just make sure you only solder the two parts that need soldering this should be easy to do let me know if you have any problems ok

I doubt you could replace just the ports. You would probably have to replace the whole board. I wouldn't spend the money.

Hi Glenn,
Understandably frustrating, but it sounds like an easy fix.
First, go through the settings on your radio to be certain that nothing was set incorrectly.
Second, make sure your antenna wire is not malfunctioned or tampered with. Broken pins can render an antenna useless. These satellite radio antennae are fairly cheap to purchase on their own, so you could try purchasing a new one and see if it works.
If that's fine, open the receiver. Generally these radio's use small torx or philips screws. Once opened, check the area where the antenna is plugged in - is the lead/wire broken? Is the solder coming off? All of this can be fixed easily if spotted. You can even solder the antenna permanently on if you like.

1999 VW Passat 1.8 turbo Code #3 cylinder misfire. Replaced coil and all plugs, still have misfire...???

Coils and plugs are not the only things that can cause misfires. Misfires can be caused by vacuum leaks, low compression, faulty fuel injectors, clogged EGR ports (on vehicles with individual ports for each cylinder), blown head gaskets, burned valves...you can spend a LOT of money on parts by just going in and replacing things without diagnosing WHY the cylinder is misfiring.

Helllllo all.please can someone help me.my daughter hs dropped her laptop and broken the screen bezel/hinge.im not sure if there is any other problems.the laptop is working fine and the screen is not...

If you need to ask "how" to disassemble the laptop, I strongly recommend that you STOP, and take it to a qualified technician,
and pay him/her $50 to $75 for "one-hour-labour" to disassemble it,
to order the correct replacement part, to reassemble, and to test it.

That $50 to $75 would have been the cost of the "all-perils" insurance. So, you now need to spend the money that you did not earlier spend.

Car continues to misfire. Replaced spark plugs, wires, coils, module, fuel pressure regulator, and injectors. What else is left to do, without spending more money!!!!!!!

Guessing is the way to spend the most amount of money. After spending a lot of money guessing, most people dont want to spend money fixing the real problem, which in all cases, cost less than what they have spent. A shop will need to take it from here, First is to narrow down which cylinder is misfiring then go from there, Check fuel trims, compression, Vac leak, signal from the injector to the ecm. The injector is hot and the ecm grounds it. You dont say which engine you have, but the 2.4L have had a lot of coil housings go bad.

Dvd drive belt to open tray is broken on my insignia combo dvd/vcr

Unless you paid a lot of money for that player, you'll want to buy a new one if you're not in warranty. I'm only vaguely familiar with that brand so I'm not sure of the price range. But if you only paid $25 to $50 for the unit, chances are the part you need isn't available from the manufacture. Companies that specialize in affordable, cheaper players no longer stock replacement parts because they save a lot of money in inventory. Most people will not spend the money necessary to repair a DVD player--they'll just buy a new one. So if a company stocks replacement parts for all of their models, they end up sitting on that stock indefinitely because few people want to spend the $50 to $75 labor for repair. If you're under warranty, call the manufacture and they will likely replace the entire unit and you won't pay any more than shipping costs depending on the company.

I hope I've provided you useful assistance and that this information allows you to make an informed decision as to how to proceed from here. Please be sure to vote on my response. I hope I've earned a good rating from you today.
