The radio works fine, but when I turn it to the iPod selection it shows that the iPod is connected and playing but there's no sound. It even shows the song name! Same with the cd, it shows how it's going through the song (minute and seconds w/ track) but no sound!
Alright I fixed it. My stock Jeep stereo had a speaker amp that was wired in with the power ANT, the kenwood would turn the power ANT off when using other medias. So I had to hook up the BLUE power ANT wire up to the RED IGN wire so that when the car was on both the ANT and AMP would be on when the car was on. There are other ways of hooking this up I could have hooked the ANT wire up to the AMP wire coming out of the Kenwood so that the AMP and ANT would've only been on when the radio was on, but I'm happy with the way this turned out.

actually, chrysler/dodge has factory Infinity sound systems installed. The nice part about these systems is that you dont have to bypass the amplifiers in order to put a new radio in, but simply power up the amp by hooking up the amp turn on wire at the harness. The alpine should have 2 blue wires coming off of the back, one that is solid, the other with a white stripe. The one that is solid only has 12v when the fm/am radio is on (used for power antenna) but cuts off when other sources are used (cd,aux, ipod). My guesses are, you have the amp wire on the vehicle harness (blue) tied into this wire, instead of the BLUE/WHITE wire on the alpine which has 12v as long as the radio is on. i hope this solves your problem, 9 times out of 10 on a chrysler this is it.
You have to set up the AUX output. 1. Touch the source icon and then touch "OFF" to turn the unit off. (The unit will be in demo mode) 2. Touch the screen to display the touch panel keys. 3. Touch AV Menu you should see "Inital Menu" and touch it. 4. Touch AUX 1 on the inital menu to select desired setting. 5. Touch it until Ipod is selected (make sure you have the CD-IU200V connected. 6. Touch ESC. Ipod video should work now. 7. See Page 50 in Operation Manual for more information.
If you have an amplifier hooked up make sure that the correct blue wire on the harness is connected. One of the wires is the remote amp turn-on, the other is for a power antenna. That would be why your radio plays through your speakers, the power antenna wire' when the source is set to radio, sends a 12 volt signal. That would turn on your amp if thats the way that its hooked up.
Your amp is not turning on - what you should do is connect the "blue/white - remote turn-on lead" to whatever wire you have the "blue - power antenna" output from the Alpine connected to now. That should solve your problem.
