Hi does the controll have a button that says tv or vcr if so press the vcr button and try that if that dont solve the problem then make sure batterys are in right way and check the terminals are free from corrosion if this still dont work then the best thing to do is take the case off the remote and usually the problem is a build up of dust or grease on the board or on the back off buttons clean the board with dry cloth and clean the back of buttons remove any dust or grease from the board and buttons then put back together if this still dont work then you probably need new remote.
It will cost more than the remote to get repaired you can buy an all in one remote that will operate this for you let meknow how you get on ok

Remote control stopped working changed batteries and still not working

Here are a few suggestions to help you with this problem:
It is possible that the battery contacts are corroded so you might try expecting the contacts and cleaning them. Since you cannot see if the IR signal is being sent, you can use another IR remote that you know works and see if you can Jam the signal of the working remote with your Hql-260wr remote. To do this, push the volume up button on the TV remote and hold it down while at the same time using the known working remote to control its companion product. If the working unit stops responding correctly when the volume button is pressed, it is transmitting an IR signal.

In this case, since you confirmed that the remote is transmitting, you can make sure that you are on the correct device settings for the remote. If you select the TV setting for instance, see if the remote now can control the TV. The main functions to try first are volume and channel buttons.

If this does not work, you will need to find out where the IR receiver is on the TV and make sure that the receiver lens is not blocked by something such as another device like a video console, etc.

My viper remote just stopped working. Its no longer transmitting to my truck meaning the green light wont go on when i press any button. I even replaced the battery. Any ideas on what it can be?

Try cleaning the signal sending place of both the remote and also the receiver using a well glass cleaner. This is the last step. If this does'nt work, you have to change the battery

Why won't any remote control work with my Olevia TV, even the original remote that came with the TV

There is a remote receiver built into the TV that "sees" the signal from your remote, and that "could" be bad, although in my experience, it's very rarely that. Usually, it's something that blocking the signal from reaching the TV's sensor window, or interferrence from a flaky flourescent light bulb nearby. Make sure the batteries are good and inserted correctly in the remote transmitter as well.

Roku 2 remote won't work

Hi,

If you have a Wi-Fi Roku remote or a bluetooth Roku Remote, the remote needs to be paired with the unit first before you can control the device. To pair the unit with the remote, you can do the following:

  1. Turn off the Roku player for 30 seconds by unplugging the power cord from the power outlet.
  2. Once you have the bouncing Roku on your TV screen, open the battery compartment of the remote and press the purple button there once.
  3. The Led on the remote should start blinking.
  4. Leave the Led blinking and don't press any button on your Roku remote.
  5. Wait for the Led to stop blinking.
  6. Once the Led stopped blinking, try to test any button and see if it works.

My remote doesn't work

Have you tried replacing the batteries? If you spilled something on it, it might break it, or if you dropped it. Is something in the way of the TV Receiver thats blocking the signal?

My samsung remote BN59-00852A just stopped working, it wont control the tv. i changed the batteries but still nothing. please help

Try the instructions below. If you need to replace the remote, you can order one from:
http://www.remotes.com/remotes/servlet/rs?a=Search&o=c&uid=0&m=BN59-00852A&uuid=12967730823440

Before replacing the remote, try the following:
How to Re-Start Your "Dead" Remote Control This only takes about a minute and will restart 1 in 3 "Dead" Original Remote Controls. Good Luck!
Step 1- Pull the batteries out of the remote and leave them out until Step 4.
Step 2- Press and release each and every button one at a time on the remote control until every button has been pressed and released at least once!
Step 3- If your remote has slide switches, you must move the switch to each position then repeat the button pushing in Step 2.
(When you're done, be sure to put the slide switch in the correct position to operate the unit the remote came with!)
Step 4- Put the batteries back into the remote, being very careful to install them correctly.
New batteries should be used if you're not sure about the old ones.
Step 5- Try the remote.

Special Note:
If you have a digital camera, camcorder or camera phone you can test the remote to see if it is emitting a signal. Face the remote towards the lens of the digital unit until you can see the front of the remote. Depress any button on the remote. You should see a light (steady, blink or flashing) being emitted from the remote. If you do then the problem might not be the remote but the sensor on the TV unit.

Let me know if you have further questions. Please make sure to rate this solution. Thanks.

URC-9910 remote: The RF part for this remote stopped working.

I have the same remote as yours and occasionally the RF remote is not working due the interference signal from outside or next door at certain hours.
My suggestions:
(1) To relocate the receiver and reposition the anntena for better reception of the RF signal from the remote unit.
(2) Replaced the battery.

Hope these help!
