Re: how do i replace a belt?

On the bottom above the beater bar there should be two deep set screws one on the right and the left take them out. =you can use a flat blade screw driver to pop the sides off you should see the gap at the edges the belt if there is one left would be attached to the beater bar replace the belt .should all go back together same way it came apart. hope this helps ya.

Yes, you need to replace the belt. You should actually change this belt every year. Here is a link to the belt you need and the manual which has instructions:

Eureka Boss - Belt is not broke but brush will not turn. I have already turned it over - checked belt - and pushed the reset button.

The belt may look fine but they can still be stretched or worn and it won' turn the brush. Try changing the belt and see what it does. You can get Eureka belts here:

To my knowledge model F7220900 SteamVac doesn't require a belt. Are you sure that is your model? If you have a different Hoover model you can get a replacement belt here:

Problem getting belt around motor shaft... Eureka The BOSS

make sure the vacuum is in the upright (locked position) - when you lower the handle, this puts tention on the belt. If it is in the upright and locked position, there is plenty of clearance (unless you have the wrong belt.

Belt broke

The belt number is 60957, There should be some screws that you remove from the bottom and the whole bottom nozzle will come apart, then you can change the belt.

remove belt to brush roll and see if noise persists. if it stops, you probably need a brush roll. at least doing this will narrow down the fault area
