Buy an external SD-Card reader, solves all your problems.

The issue is that Canon does not update their software to support old cameras on new operating systems. You can make it work with the usb cable, but it may be difficult, so if you havent figured it out already, i suggest you stick with buying an external SD-Card reader like the rest of us using digital cameras.
(Pro tip: ALL(almost) Pro photographers use SD-Card readers, and they are cheap!).

Your SD card may have failed. Have you tried a different SD card in your camera? If you have and it still isn't working, it may be the camera.

My digimaax a6 will not work with new sd card

Hi Peter,
Few Cards need to be formatted before using it. You need to format the SD card using a card reader or adapter and connected to your PC. if you have done this and still does not work, check the below details.
Have you checked if the Camera supports the SD card you purchased ? Many Camera's do not support high storage SD Card like 8 or 16 GB. Check the Camera Specification to find out which card is supported.
Also check if the Lock on the side of the SD Card is unlocked. You will find the lock on right side of the Camera.

hi there,
usually when this problem occurs, it's the card itself. As you know, cards of any kinds are extremely sensitive and delicate. when you inserted the card into your computer, a virus might have corrupted the card. i would suggest that you take out the card from the camera and put it in a card reader then insert it to a good computer. from there you format the card. if your camera is functioning well to the other card then there's no problem with the camera. let me know how it works for you.

Pictures not loading to computer

It sounds like you don't have software on your PC that will recognize the camera when connected. I am going to recommend that you do not use the camera to upload photos. It is better practice to use external (SD) memory cards and remove them from the camera to upload. You can use a USB SD reader or purchase SD cards with a built-in USB interface. You should be able to see a new drive when connecting the SD card to your computer; then all you need to do is copy over the images. One advantage is that you will save camera battery while uploading because you dont need the camera at all. It also allows you to take images with you without taking the camera, i.e. school or work. I hope this helps...californiajones7889e54.jpg67432f4.jpg4db3d64.jpg

Since this camera is fifteen years old, and is long discontinued, it is unlikely that spares will be available for it. The camera shop gave you the most cost effective advice.

Transform Duo Stick into an SD card ~ Possible?

Hi Qwin,

Although you cannot directly use your Duo Stick in a camera which supports SD, you are able to purchase a memory card reader to support both formats. This means that you can transfer data from the Duo Stick or the SD onto your computer, and then put the data onto the other card.

Thank you,
