Acer L100 dvd drive is not sencing any dvd or cd. so I can not write any thing

Go to Device Manager and see if your DVD is listed among all your computer's hardware and peripherals.
(type "device manager" in your COMPUTER search area if you don't know how to get there)
If it IS NOT listed-power problem or defective
If it IS listed, right click it, select PROPERTIES
(Yellow triangle indicates error)
First tab GENERAL shows if it is working properly.
Then click on DRIVER tab to see if you just need to update the driver, or roll back to a previous driver.

Hope this helps.

I have a HP Media Center PC M7360n had to replace dvd burner and media card now my speakers will not work drivers say every thing is working but I have no sound

What OS are you using? If this is a Vista machine, try to roll back the sound drivers. Vista is notorious for not being compatible with certain drivers and will set them to update if you use automatic updating. You could have installed a driver with replacement DVD burner / media card and they don't get along with a new or old sound driver. Check HP help and support online to see if they have newer driver for sound. And if you have sound card, check with manufacture for updated drivers.

No sound is coming from my external computer speakers I have an Acer5100-U5300A computer. Whenever I try to connect external speakers to the computer, no sound is heard. I was trying to connect some...

No Sound, No Volume Control, Mixer not Found, No Sound device installed…etc etc, This is a generic issue with all Windows OS updates....many of the users are facing this issue....this issue began after an auto update from MS changed many IRQs of Win OS, mainly the Sound and Audio Control system of Windows.
1 - R U facing NO Audio / No Sound issue...?
2 - Is ur Volume Control not responding ?
3 - Is ur Sound and Audio Device in Control Panel Grayed out ?
4 - Do u get a msg "No Active Mixer Devices Installed....when u try to open Volume Ctrl etc etc ?

If ur ans to any one of them is Yes...then u are being spammed by ur Sound Control IRQ is being frozen by a recent update from Microsoft....

No file update or any sound driver update can fix it, neither Microsoft is issuing any patch to fix it…or giving any help on this.
Full solution is available in my website (Support page)'s quite simple process to fix it, and I am not charging any money, just trying to do some service and help everyone affected by this stupidity from Microsoft.

My Acer Aspie 5735 will play some dvd's but not others. When I put the dvd's that won't play into the drive it sounds like the computer is trying to make it work because the drive starts vibrating hard but...

DVD's have different formats. DVD+R, DVD-R, DVD+RW, DVD-RW and then there is dual-layer, regional limitations, etc. Check the formats and make sure your DVD player can handle them. Are these recorded DVD's, data DVD's or retail-purchased DVD movies?

Check the Acer website for updated drivers. That means all of them, too, not just the DVD drivers. Check for audio, video, chipset, BIOS, etc. They can all have an effect on the overall playback/rendering performance.

It's not unusual at all for a DVD-ROM to be a bit finicky about copied DVD's that were recorded on other units.
You might be able to figure out why it won't play certain DVD's, but it's unlikely that you'll ever be able to force it to read a DVD that it just doesn't like.

Verifying dmi pool data and stuck there

Sounds like your CMOS is corrupted. You should be able to fix it by going to the BIOS setup and reset your BIOS data to factory default.

If it still doesn't work, open up the cover of your PC. Try locating JP3/CMOS reset jumper and put a jumper there for a few seconds. Remove the jumper and put the cover back. Then power up the PC and run your CMOS set up.

I am sorry if I didn't make it too clear. Please let me know if you need more help. There is a chat function on this site that may make things easier.

CD-ROM drive doesn't load/play CDs or DVDs on laptop computer.

Check device manager for marks, red cross's etc...on the devices list, look in here,

Start, control panel , system/maintainance,
device manager, disk drive in here, right click, scan for hardware changes, update diver,

or double click it, driver tab, try roll back, or update & search, internet needed,
if no light's or no activity after this and all connections are good, ESD kit, needed to test that, then it's drive failure.

Check the media on different Computer, if it functions
You have just confirmed it.

Bios update

Roll it back, do a system restore to yesterday or whichever day it was ok. You can go nutso trying to correct a bios problem, if you can get aroundit with a simple restore. You sound like you know how it's done but just in case ill run it down for you in the intrest of saving time. Start, Programs, Accessories, System tools, System restore, good luck, Gym
