We have different sound we can hear in cases of hardware problem, once the video card has loose contact it also beep continously, a beep sound also occurs when the ram(memory card) loose contact, one beep sound when it boot clearly it proceeds as go signal going to operating system. if you are using an upgraded video card remove temporarily and use the on-board from your motherboard. in case that it won't boot and still you hear a beep, beep ,sound then, switch-off the power take out the memory card clean the contact points(bronze color) with pencil eraser, make sure that no remaining residues of eraser remained before you install to the slot. i hope that this solves your problem

I had the same problem, as in the computer beeps and nothing else happens. I just took off the ram stick and put it into another slot. Now it works just fine. I'm not sure if that particular slot got some problem suddenly.

Hello sir hi, try cleaning the memory modules of your PC. also review your power supply connection. and check the following sequence of events. 1. power on the PC. 2. fan should be blowing. 3. keyboard light, scroll, numlock and capslock lit and then goes off. (if this does not lit, you have a mother board problem) 4. you should hear a beep. (1 beep is normal, 1 long and 2or3 short beeps, means display problem) 5. the numlock is lit. (no light means problem on the motherboard) 6. the display monitor will now display the CMOS. 7. your drive should turn/spin or HD led lights.
Im not so sure if the motherboard develops errors due to being not used for a long time, and may now have slimes and battery leaks that may be present on the board, a visual inspection is needed here, remove your motherboard out of the case and inspect all area for chemical creeps.

My hp computer wont display picture and makes a beep noise when i turn it on

It should make one beep. That means it passed the self-test.
If there is nothing on the monitor (is the monitor light green or yellow?)
then the monitor is bad.
I suggest you try another monitor to be sure. Borrow one from a friend.

Your Monitor is not connected properly

Connecting Your Monitor
1. Turn off your computer and unplug the power cord.
2. Connect the white connector end of the DVI cable attached on the monitor to the connectors on the computer.
3. Connect the USB cable that was included with your monitor to the computer and the upstream USB connector on the monitor. Once this cable is connected to the computer and the monitor, you can use the USB downstream on the monitor.
4. Connect any USB devices.
5. Connect the power cord.
6. Turn on your monitor and computer. If you do not see an image, see Troubleshooting Your Monitor.

NOTE: The Monitor will display full screen in White, Black, Red, Green and Blue color rolling pattern on screen if the DVI cable is not connected. This self test pattern will be displayed continually when Monitor detects that DVI cable from Monitor to PC is not connected.

* Check connection integrity at both ends of the video cable.
* Ensure the monitor and computer are plugged in to a working electrical outlet.
* Ensure power button is depressed fully.
