Big "bump" = bulb replacement < loose internal connection

I have sound and no pic ona zenit model number r57w46

The set will turn off the three picture tubes for several different reasons:

Voltages including High voltage are not there

Loss of either Vertical or Horizontal sweep

Loss of secondary voltages to the tubes

The set "looks" at several things when turned on and if not there no brightness is the result--rarely the picture tubes but something missing or wrong.

Own a Mitsubishi projection TV VS-45609 and the picture is blurry and distorted. Any idea what the problem could be?

It sounds like the coolant in the picture tubes needs to be changed. If it is foggy or hazy looking, then most likely this is the problem.

If you are seeing double or triple images, as if the colors are misaligned, then you have a convergence problem. There are two convergence ic's and possibly some resistors that will have to be changed and some adjustments will have to be made afterwards.

If I had a picture I could tell you for sure if it is either of these two problems. I've fixed many projection sets w/ similar problems before by making either of these repairs. Unfortunately, it would be very difficult to do yourself for the first time w/out someone to guide you through it, so you may have to let a technician do it. Both repairs take a lot of setup and time. Our shop normally gets around $300.00 for either of these repairs. I would atleast get someone to give you an estimate on it. They should be able to tell right away after seeing the pic.

I have a sony kp-61v90 projector tv and the colors are making the red stick out, feels like a 3d, any help?i kalld a tv repair which charged me $50 and said to repair $350 which is pretty

i'm assuming that your complaint is the red is predominant over the other colors- if it is a rear projection set, there are three tubes [r,b,g], and each one has its own flyback with a focus and 'g2' control on it. try backing down the red g2, and if the picture is too dark, turn down the color control [so you should have a black and white pic], then adjust the g2 controls until you have a satisfactory black and white pic- after that, when you turn the color back up, you should have a good pic. sometimes. adjusting the g2 can affect the focus, and there is a focus control on the flyback. there are also optical focus [moveable lenses] on each tube, but they are primarilly for initial setup of the set, and should never have to be adjusted, unless the tube has been replaced. fyi- i happen to have a complete set of sony rear projection tubes [r,b,g] complete with lenses and neck coils i am currently trying to sell, but it doesn't sound like you need tubes at this time, but it's something to keep in mind, because these tubes are becoming extremely rare and hard to find, and cost upwards of close to a thousand dollars a piece, i'm selling the complete set for four hundred dollars. good luck!

Only red tube shows picture, but green & blue are on, just no pic

More likely the problem is the blue and green fluid in the tubes is so cloudy that its distorting the image. Get a fluid kit from

How to remove crt tube

I would not advise you to do any service to your tv if you are not experienced. there is high voltage in there and there is alignment procedures to do after installing the tube. It is best to order the original service manual they have a step by step replacement guides in them.
