When an address is entered into my Nextar C3 GPS and I try to "erase" a letter or number by pressing on the erase arrow on the keyboard display, (the erase arrow is located about 1/3 the way down on the right side of the display) instead of erasing the last letter or number, it writes a "g". Pressing the erase arrow again adds another "g", ad infinitum.
I have N O T inserted a flash memory card in the slot, all I care about is driving & location information.
I'm still under warranty (I think) but wonder if there is anything I can do to fix. Its seems to me it might be like rebooting a PC when a strange command creates a "bug" that cripples the PC.

Go to nextxt.com, and enter contact to check for all updates and upgrades for your unit. I did the same to upgrade my Garmin maps. They did charge for the service, but it was well worth it. Best of luck.
Maybe this will help you some. I have found you the complete manual
which covers most of the models of the Garmin Nuvi. It is the full
manual from start to finish with complete operating procedures as well
as schematics, operation instructions complete with pictures, and
trouble shooting section and even other contact numbers to deal direct
with Garmin, if your model is not covered in this manual.
Also if you can, please rate my solution if you can and some kind words
would be appreciated. I also took the liberty to put my link at the
bottom of this page that directs you to my personal page for all my
areas of expertize, such as Automotive, Appliance, Electronics. Feel
free to check it out anytime and save my link for future problem. Thanks
So, Much Mike.
Each Garmin is a little different. There is a icon in the top left that looks like an eraser on most models. Just touch that to erase the character before the cursor.
Other units will have a left pointing arrow with a x in the middle. This is your backspace icon. Since each unit is different I suggest visiting GPSCity and downloading the manual for your specific unit for better clarification.
When you're typing the address, at the bottom of the onscreen keyboard is a button that toggles the alphanumeric characters from the alphabet to the numeric keypad. That should allow you to type in numbers and letters as needed.
To find streets that are numerical, not names, enter the address normally to start. Enter the State, City, and House Number. When it asks you to enter the street, look at the bottom of the keyboard. You will see a key marked 123. Press this key, and numbers will show up instead of letters. Type in just the numbers (25 for 25th Avenue, etc.) and hit Done. The street should show as (25th (St., Ave., etc)). Press the correct entry.
Ok, you've tried a reset, but have you tried a Master Reset? Doing this WILL ERASE ALL OF YOUR FAVORITES, but it may help. Turn the unit off. Press the "On" button with your finger on the bottom right of the screen at the same time. Release the "On" button, but keep pressing the screen until the unit asks if you're sure you want to reset all data. Press "Yes". See if this helps.
