You need to wait for the system to response.because media player 11 is designed for vista,but it also compatible with xp.but it works good only if u have 512 mb ram as minimum.so it is advisable to upgrade your ram.

you will not be able to upgrade window media only goes to 10 for windows xp. if you are having problems with playback then there are video and audio code packs for windows media that are updated and free.

2. Have you install the sowftware that came with your device?
3. is your system recognizing the hard drive (go to start>run>type devmgmt.msc and press enter> and look under cd/dvd rom drives... is your device listed? is it showing with a ? unknown device or a ! next to it's name?

PC dosen't play sounds occasionally

heres a suggestion go back to xp service pack 2. service pack is very easy to use and more compatibility than sp3. right now my 10 pc's are all xp sp2 and they have no problems about the sound.hope that helps

WINDOWS MEDIA PLAYER NOT RESPONDING..

Windows Media Player in this case has a script error that causes it not to respond on any OS platform that has yet to be fixed by updates. I have currently updated it to its fullest and it refuses to respond properly on windows xp, let alone beta versions of windows like windows 7. My suggestion is forget windows media player 11 and go download VLC player which plays more things off the bat anyways. Its free and easy and small. There is also any number of other media players like Realplayer, Quicktime, or Windows Media Player Classic.
