Suds and water staying in Whirlpool Quiet Partner III

I have noticed that suds have been staying in the bottom of the dishwasher the last 3 times it was used. Yesterday, I went into the kitchen and discovered that the dishwasher was leaking suds and water. I tried to running a rinse cycle and draining and the problem continues. The unit is only a year and a half old. Is this something we can fix ourselves?

We just started having the same problem with our Quiet Partner III today. Our machine is about 3 1\2 years old. We thought it might be sink water backwashing into the dishwasher??? I noticed our exterior unit suds after I washed an extra set of dishes in the sink in sudsy water and then lifted the stopper on the sink for the sink water to drain.

I too have a problem with our Whirlpool Quiet Partner III dishwasher. Water is not draining from the washer and is standing in the bottom, not a little, but allot. Not sure where the drain air gap is, should that be a possible reason. We purchased the home a couple years back and inherited the appliances. Does this dishwasher have a history of issues? Any assistance would be appreciated. I can be reached at the following -

I am having the exact same problem. And it just started today. I had suds all over my floor and nothing I can do (running a drain cycle or basic rinse cycle) will clear the water and suds left standing in the bottom of the dishwasher. Don't want to have to call a plumber if I don't have to so any advice would be much appreciated.

    Thanks in advance.

Same problem. Mine is 3 years old and is leaving water at the bottom the last few cycles. Any solution out there? I really don't want to have to pay for a repair trip charge.

I believe you may be over sudsing, Try a few cycles with vinegar and no soap. Do not use dishwashing soap at any time ever. See if the vinegar trick helps...helijm

New Quiet Partner 2 doesn't drain at end of cycle.. how to fix?

May be that there was a little regular soap or something put in that made it suds up causing it not to drain. Vegetable oil poured into the dish washer tub will remove the suds. After running vegetable oil for about 5 minutes, pour 2 cups of vinegar in to the tub and run it on the hottest longest cycle with no dishes in it. This will clean the residue out and what ever "gunk" may be in the internal parts. Use Only powder detergent. No gel and No tabs. These 2 cause a build-up over a period of time of use and reduce the performance of your machine. This should take care of your problem.

GE dishwaher leaks with standing water in bottom

Check to make sure regular dish soap did not end up getting inside the dishwasher. This will create a lot of suds that will overflow onto the kitchen floor. Standing water from not draining can mean the drain hose is clogged somewhere or the check valve has something caught in it. If you remove the front kick plate, you will be able to check those.
