HDR-HC1 goes out of focus 50% of the time when in record mode

My camera took a hard fall. When in standyby everything works nomally and as it should, zoom, focus, everything. When have a tape in and hit the record button, about 50% of the time it will work fine, the other 50% of the time it goes almost completely out of focus (white), then going back to stby, it will focus fine.
When it does work in record mode, it will focus fine at all distances, however using the zoom will usually drive it out of focus, also shaking the camera will make it go out of focus. Like I said, in stby, everything works, it's just when there is a tape in the cassette and rec mode.......Don
