Question about Toshiba 42HPX95 42 in. Plasma Television
I have a plasma Toshiba 42hpx95 for about 2 years now and just last night it turned off and wont turn on. The power red LED is blinking. When I unplug and plug it on i can hear clicking sound and it shuts down. I have a power surge protector plug into it ever since. can anybody tell me whats wrong?
Have you tried looking for parts for it, instead of taking it for service? The service call alone will most likely cost the same as the part. I have sony rear projector that I fixed for the same price of the service call. There is a site called partstore.com and they have a lot of parts and they are 30 day return. So, if it is not the right board, you can send it back and get the right one. With my rear projector, I knew it was the d board, based on the blinking lights it shows and the service manual I found for free on the net. Look for a service manual for the tv on eservice.com and it might help.

After a LOT of screw removal, AFTER disconnecting the power cord, I did EXACTLY as they said on another post and simply removed the plug PJ36A, just as told. Then I vacummed out all the dust!
Before putting the cover back on, I plugged up power, being SURE to only touch the power cord and the TV turned right on! :)
Removed the power cord, put the cover back on, put in all the screws, reconnected the power cord and 'good as new'. :)
Thanks a bunch guys!!

I have the same problem with this model and brand. My solution is NEVER TO BUY ANOTHER TOSHIBA. Waste of money and my TV is just 2 years old and cost thousands! I have TV as old as 15 years old and they still work very well and this flat screen tv has already broken down in just 2 years!!

I am having the exact same problem with my Toshiba 42HP95. From the information that I have been able to glean from the internet, it looks to be some sort of problem with the power supply or some other component of the power circuit. I am giving up and getting service

Save hours of searching online or wasting money on unnecessary repairs by talking to a 6YA Expert who can help you resolve this issue over the phone in a minute or two.
Best thing about this new service is that you are never placed on hold and get to talk to real repairmen in the US.
