With all of you having the same problem, it doesn't sound too good. Just to cover all bases (have to do that in troubleshooting) do you have compatible software installed for the scanner to work with? The scanner needs a program that will recognize it. What program is this? it may help me to help you if I know it. Can you try opening that program and telling it to scan from there, rather than from the scanner?

Did you get it working Jason? My MP610 did the same thing to me this morning... I went through all the rigmarole of moving it, testing it with different power cords and etc... with no success. I left it unplugged completely, tried it again this afternoon and it works. Well, it turned on, copied a piece of paper, I was able to access the ink cartridges and switched it on and off again twice and it worked. Hoping it will stay that way. I don't know if it happened because I put a CF card in to slot - will try card in another reader first and see what happens... I would be interested to hear what happened with yours, Jason.Cheers, Vicki 23rd April 2012
Now as its not copying then it can be hardware issue so we can try to reset the printer and for that
1. Unplug the power cord from the back of the printer while the printer is ON
2. Hold and press the # and 6 key at the same time and while holding them plug in the power cord you will say that the printer turns On and there may be reset message on the screen of the printer ..release the buttons
its around 2 minutes process and it will reset your printer

Try scanning from the Kodak AiO Home Center software. If that fails, you should get better feedback. Unfortunately, I have run into this when my ink is low. While it should not matter, is does. Check to see if you need to replace a cartridge. Good Luck. DigiChick.
