The main power supply board has the fault. It might be replaced. It is best to replace as card basis, rather than making 'surgery' to it.

If you can see recording on the flip is either a disc patch fix (software) obtained thru Go Video..or find another go video recorder to finalize might try unplugging the unit for a minute or two..and try it again...

Not reading pre-recorded dvd's and ocassionally not re-wrtten dvds

Over recent months my recorder has stopped reading pre-recorded disc's and more requently re-writer disc's. I had thought that the region had some how been altered, but not too sure now. Is there a way of checking? Or is there a problem with the laser block. I have stripped the machine down and thoroughly cleaned (but no dust found) and no loose parts. I have reset to manufacture default but this hasn't helped.

OK 1 Other User Has The Same Problem Comment by Guest, posted on Dec 19, 2007 DVDR70-051 recorder functions generally becoming more and more erratic. DVD-RW discs I have recorded sometimes say 'disc error' sometimes 'no disc' sometimes start ok but cycles round and round for 5 - 10 mins before stopping, sometimes goes straight into play at last position, won't stop back in menu just goes straight to stndby. Factory reset dosn't help. Wont play pre-recorded discs without going into menu and messing around. It seems to damage or not record RW discs properly a lot of the time. Not even sure if it's resetting to factory settings properly.

Dr-4912 stops recording after 1min and locks

I was having this problem too.

After some tests I detect some kind of video images or programs cause the recorder "think" the content is protected and stop the recording in the middle of process.

So I bought a Macrovision remover (like GREX - and the problem was gone.

Throw the damn thing away. And don't even try looking on the internet for the solution. Every link will take you to a sales pitch. Very frustrating.

If you could but now you cannot then this is a circuit break down- although check your set up , but I feel it is the machine beginning to die
