Head cleaning is mechanical proccess, printing is electrical proccess. If nothing at all ink out/spray from head in printing proccess, problem with electricity. Damage board or short circuit at head cable. Check board first, may be some component "burn".Better to take printer to epson service center. Damage board can be replaced, but it must to check the cable head and small circuit at head first.

My Kodak 3250 printer is printing very faded. I've changed the ink cartridges, even taken out the print head itself and cleaned it with alcohol. Calibrated it several times, print head aligned it several...

First if you used ALCOHOL on the print heads you most certainly made some DAMAGE because alcohol will MELT the microscopic electronic nozels, the best way to clean a jet ink head is to soak it into WARM WATER NOT ALCOHOL, if your lucky you could try soaking the head in warm water for 30 minuts, than VERY DELYCATELY dry it with a scott towel, than use GENUINE KODAK INK not generic or re-filled ink cartridges if all that does not work, well you probably need a new print head

Good luck!

After not using printer for several months my printer will not print even after buying new ink cartriages what do i do?

Inkjet printers do not like being left unused.
The print head may be blocked. Try several deep cleaning of the print head to see if it can clear the blocked print nozzles.
If none of this works then the print head needs to be replaced.
NOTE the print head is not a cheap item, you may consider putting the money towards a new and better printer.

Can the printer still print on low ink on colors? It wont let me print anything, even black and white. On windows 7.. any problems there? It says that the printer is printing the page. But the Cyan is low...

It will print with no ink it will just be patchy.
It is also best to not let them run out of ink as they dry up in the print nozzle a pain to get working again and uses a lot of ink as you need to do several head cleans.
You may need to turn it of at the power point then after 3 minutes turn it back on again.
Also reboot your computer it may have not have started properly.
This should reset it.

It will not print in black ink even though I put a new black ink cartridge into the machine

Hello sir, good day, If you cannot print black ink on paper even with new cartridge on the machine, the cradle is dirty, the thing that holds your ink cartridge.

The ink flow is from the cartridge to the cradle then to paper, check the cradle, for proper cleaning.

Cannon mp830 prints all colors but yellow

Your print head is likely toast.

The only way to be sure is to test out your purge unit (aka capping assembly).

This assembly provides the suction when you use the cleaning function. One test is simply to install a new oem ink cartridge, do a bunch of cleanings and see that it is actually emptying the ink out of the cartridge (look in the cartridge and see that the ink is being used up).

Since you said you have tried several cartridges, I would hope this means you know 100% for sure that the ink level in the cartridge is going down (you cannot rely on the level indicator in your driver software).

Since your purge unit is working, then your print head is either so clogged that the purge unit isn't strong enough to clean it, or the print head is defective.

Remove the print head and inspect the bottom. Give the bottom surface (and no more) a rinse under very hot running water. Blot the bottom surface on paper towel and see if there is any yellow ink coming off in the paper towel. If you can find a tube that will fit over the yellow ink well in the print head (the part that contacts the ink cartridge) try and force water through the tube and see if a fine mist comes out the bottom of the print head. If yes, then the head is not clogged. If no, leave the print head to soak for several hours. A saucer with a small amount of water in it will do. Just let the bottom surface of the print head contact the water (the cap off of a can of spray paint usually works for this)

Let the print surface soak for a few hours, or even over night. Reinstall the print head and give it a deep clean. If it still does not work, call your local Canon repair shop and check the price of a replacement head.

Printer cartridges not recognised

Sometimes even when an ink cartridge has been refilled to capacity, your printer still registers it as empty. This is because your printer remembers that the cartridge was previously installed and it can only remember it as being empty. Part of this is due to technology put in place by printer manufacturers so that you will always have to buy new cartridges. Part of it is also that print catridges are clogged if not used for sometime after its empty even after refilling this is because the contact was already clogged due to the dryness of the old ink inside it before refilling so in that case you will clean/soak the contacts with solvent before refilling .
again since there is no “official” way to fix this problem, you have to basically clear the printer’s memory to make it recognize that you are installing a full cartridge. If you have tried to install the refilled cartridge and you have done all you can to convince your printer that the cartridge isn’t still empty, then basically you just have to unplug your printer for a minute and then trying reinstalling again. but it should fix this problem and it can potentially fix other annoying things your printer is doing.

New black print cartridge not working

I only use refill HP inks. When the cartridge prints gray instead of sharp black it means the ink well is clogged. Yes, that can happen on a new cartridge. Sometimes it happens when they put too much ink in the cartridge, or even heat can make it not work. Also streaking black lines is the problem of the ink not coming out properly. Easiest thing to do is go to a refill station like Cartridge World and have them test it or clean it out. You can also make sure the printer, not the cartridge is clean. Ink builds up an pools. Get some Q-Tips and clean up all that spilled ink. Sometimes in the software it says you can clean the print head, do that too.

Black cartridge not printing

Three things peggye: one you have bought a dud cartridge. It happens. Two: you did may not have removed all the protective tape or it is not a comapatable cartridge by mistake. If tow is not the issue, try 3 first before resorting to 1. Three: your printheads are blocked for black ink. Manually clean with proper cleaning solution, using cotton buds, right doen where cartrisge sits, and use a baby wipe (unscented to press firmly on bottom of cartridge where ink comes out. Put it back in. Print now. Post back if no good. Cheers, lilacgerry
