Re: Stablelization message

I have the same problem with you with my ex-v7, but now i am so happy because i dont need to buy new one because it is already fixed.still appearing that error message but you can use it well. i did the same with other, just update your firmware to 1.03 version and you can see the surprise that you are looking for....and now i know that the technical support of casio is useless because a month before i went to the warranty center to ask regarding this problem, and they advised me to buy new one because if they would repair it they need to change that stabilizer part that costs of 4000NT$.i am very thankful with this fixya...for being very helpfull...

Re: Stablelization message

Casio told me it had to do with the lens being out of alignment. This is such a common problem, why wouldn't Casio recall it?? I had my camera for 3 months and it said this so I called casio and I had to ship it from Northeastern Oregon down to California and it was gone for 2-3 weeks getting repaired! It was covered by the warrantee but I didn't get a loaner camera, obviously, so paying to get it repaired would almost be worth it if I would get it back the same day. 1 week ago exactly it said "Camera Stabilizer not functioning" later that afternoon the camera started working again (I didn't do anything to it) but now it will NOT focus on anything more than 3 feet away. I am so dissatisfied with this camera's dependability that I will never buy casio again, no matter how good the deal sounds.

Re: Stablelization message

I just received my EX-V7 today and got this error the first time turning it on. Googled the error message and saw someone claimed firmware upgrade helped. So I went to Casio web site to download it:

It says EX-V7 Version 1.01 on this web page but clicking it showed V1.02 download. Click "I agree" at the bottom, enter serial No. at the bottom of the camera (only numbers), then click "Download" for Windows or Mac file.

!! Read the instructions on the download page to check current firmware version, how to extract the firmware file, where to put this file, and how to update the firmware.

After upgrading my firmware from 1.01 to 1.02 the error message still shows up when I turn on the camera. But it doesn't prevent me from recording any more.

Re: Stablelization message

Casio told me to send it in and they will repair it free of charge. i really enjoy this camera when it works but that problem also appeared on my camera. it is an internal problem that the warranty will cover for within a year of purchase.

Hi i am having some problems with my Fujifilm FinePix S7000. The images have stripes on them and are blurred and white. Could I send you some images so you can analyze it yourself?

I don'r think you can send anything to this site, bt you can ad one or two pictures to the message. But first try to compress the pictures under 500 kB, because that is the maximum you can add.
You could download a free program to compress the pictures in irfanview. Use batch and change the JPG settings to compression to 10 % or so.
Please tell us if you ever dropped the camera, or if you can think of any cause for this phenomena.

When I plug my camera into the USB and connect to my computer I have been getting a message that the scanner or camera is in use so it can't download my pictures. I have also seen a message asking me...

Here is the basic solution I usually give as a FIRST attempt to fix similar problems.

1. Make sure one end of the camera cord is plugged into your computer and restart your computer.
2. Make sure your camera is turned OFF. Once computer is restarted, then plug second end into the camera.
3. Turn the camera on. Wait and see what happens with the computer. If you still receive the message. Try steps 1 and 2 again. Step 3 would be to open the software that you usually use to download FIRST before turning the camera on.

If this does not fix the problem. You may need to reinstall the software you use for the camera...and try again.

Hope this helps!

LCD won't display and getting a busy message from the flash

You may have a problem internally, and the camera may need repairs.
But, let us try to see if we can help.
On the external of the camera there should be a button for turning on the display and setting in different modes. Some cameras of this kind will not show through the LCD, but uses the viewer for picture taking, and the lcd for viewing playback views.

Go to the menus and set all to default. This camera may have a setting to set all to default. After, test the camera.
If after testing to what I have stated, and still the camera is doing the same, then I recommend to call Canon repair.
Call Canon from the website toll free number for the repair department. Canon's support is great, tell them your camera model and serial.
They may solve your problem by phone, or you may send it to them for repair. Canon has a great trade-up or trade-in program. This may be an option which may interest you if you cannot fix the camera.

There is a message in front of my picture on the monitor

When viewing pictures in playback mode, simply turn the index finger dial (up by the shutter button) and this will change the 'mode' in which you view the pictures and should eventually get you to a setting where this information disappears.

Error 99

1. Turn off the camera.
2. Remove the lens, battery, and CF card.
3. Allow the camera to sit without power for approximately 20 minutes.
4. Insert a fully charged battery, and turn on the camera.
5. Depress the shutter button as you would to take a picture.
Does the “ERR 99′ message appear? If it does, then the camera should be
serviced. If it does not, then please proceed to the next set of steps:
1. Turn off the camera.
2. Insert the CF card.
3. Turn on the camera.
4. Format the CF card in the camera.
5. Depress the shutter button as you would to take a picture.
Does the “ERR 99′ message appear? If so, then the CF card is the most
likely source of the issue. Try using a different card.
If the message does not appear, please complete the following steps:
1. Turn off the camera.
2. Clean the lens contacts by gently rubbing them with a pencil eraser
or soft cloth. Be careful that you do not let any debris fall into the
camera body.
3. Reattach your lens.
4. Turn on the camera.
5. Depress the shutter button as you would to take a picture.
If the “ERR 99′ message only appears when one particular lens is
attached, then that lens should be examined by a service technician.
If you see the “ERR 99′ with a different Canon lens attached, then the
camera should be serviced.
