Hello,I need help reregistering our handset. My Uniden is TRU9480-3
It has been working fine with us until last night when two of the handsets aren't receiving any calls at all.Only one handset is working at this time and I had tried several times reregistering them but to no avail.Everytime I tried to reregister the other two handsets it always says out of range, when the fact is I am not even a feet away from the main base.
I have no idea on what else to do,please help!!!!
Thank you, we had a 12 hour black out and my phones unregistered, ur right, I unplugged it all, plugged it back in, put it back in cradle and it registered auto....also the head set I have registered too whew...thought they had blown up x
You can unregister your phone without being in the cradle, but to re-register them, just put them back in the cradle. After being unregistered, they will automatically re-register once they are put back in the cradle of the main base. Try setting them back in the base cradle to re-register, and hopefully that will work for you.
A 6ya expert can help you resolve that issue over the phone in a minute or two.

I had a similar problem which I finally fixed. You did not say if any of your phones registered.
First try the following recommended by Uniden Support:
Your phone(s) should be fully charged before putting them on the main base.
Unplug the battery from the phone by removing the battery cover and removing the connector. Then, push the # and * key together and hold while you plug the battery back in (requires some dexterity). Continue to hold the two keys until you hear a confirmation tone. This will force the phone to reregister. Put the phone on the main base (if you are sure it has a fully charged battery) and see if it will reregister it to solve the problem.
That did not work for me. So, I followed the instructions to de-register the handset (even though it hadn't really registered). But, I also pretended like the Base was not available (because using the base in this step also failed).
1) Press and hold the hang up and # keys for at least 5 seconds.
2) Move the cursor to select Base Unavailable and then press Select.
3) Select the base you want to deregister from, press Select and then move the cursor to Yes and select.
This causes the phone to delete any of its base information.
At this point, again insure that your phone shows the battery is fully charged and if it is not, put it on the stand alone charger base (not the main base). With the battery fully charged, place it on the base and try registering again by placing it in the main base.
If neither of these approaches help, contact support at Uniden.com.
However, my problems were cleared when I cleared the handset with the second set of instructions.
holding down end+# keys at the same time on the phone for about 10
secs (you will hear a beep) will deregister the handset. If you have a
dead handset and want to deregister it from the base, you have to reset
the base. unplug the phoneline and power. hold down the "delete
message" key, plug power back in. about 10 secs later, you will hear a
long beep (theres a short beep upon powerup as well). At this point all
handsets are deregistred and you will have to reregister them with the
end+# trick. this way when #1 handset is dead, you can make a working
one #1 and get the broken one fixed
BTW, this is a woot warranty, not uniden warranty. however the
uniden rep gave me the number to the people who refurb (rox0rz!) these.
I'll post an update when I finally get ahold of them (and the number if
its actually helpful)
a. Press MENU-6 to enter the registration mode
b. Press and hold the base’s Registration (REG)
button for 2 seconds until 4 LEDs light up. (Located on the base where you plug in the phone jack)
c. Press handset key “1”, this completes the
registration process. When you register the
handset to BASE 10, the base will assign a
handset ID between 11 and 19. The assigned ID
will be displayed on the handset LCD, indicating
d. Repeat above steps for all additional handsets.
e. The first two handsets registered will be given ID
11 and 12, which gives them administrator
This sounds like the register-deregister problem elsewhere on this page. Try holding down the "end" and "#" buttons for about 6 seconds to deregister the phones and then reregister them.
I had this problem too and it worked for me.
