Question about NEC LT 260K Multimedia Projector
My NEC LT260K does not light up the lamp everytime it is switched on.
When it eventually does, it goes off within minutes, (the lamp drive panel heat-sink gets very hot) after that it takes for ever to get it to light up again. Sometimes the next day!
The green light comes up all the time as is normal.
The picture is ever so bright and clear when the lamp comes on..
What can I do? I am an electronics repair-man with a lot of experience, how can I get the schematics?
A 6ya expert can help you resolve that issue over the phone in a minute or two.
Best thing about this new service is that you are never placed on hold and get to talk to real repairmen in the US.
The service is completely free and covers almost anything you can think of (from cars to computers, handyman, and even drones).
click here to download the app (for users in the US for now) and get all the help you need.

SOURCE: NEC VT47 lamp won't light
I have 3 of these and all failed within weeks of each other with the same problem. The status light blinks 6 times telling me the lamp failed to ignite.
I fixed all 3 by opening them and shuffling motherboards around. I didnt order any new parts, call tech support or anything fancy. Just swapped boards.
Maybe they will keep working, maybe they wont. It might be worth a shot if you've run out of warranty though. It's not going to get any busted-er.

When the lamp exceeds 2100hoursof service, the projector cannot turn on and the manu is not displayed. Do the following:
For VT670/VT470 Press the help button on the remote control for a minimum of ten seconds.
For VT570/VT47 Press and hold the power and the exit buttons on the remote control simultaneously for a minimum of ten seconds. When the lamp time clock is reset to zero, the lamp indicator goes out. Hope this helps! :]

SOURCE: Blinking status light
6 cycle (0.5 sec On,
0.5 sec Off) is a lamp error!
0.5 sec Off)
Lamp fails to light. Wait a full
minute and then turn on again.
Even though the lamp is not old there may be a defect in the lamp. I know the lamps are expensive but this may be the problem. If you have a lamp that was removed due to age but still worked you could use the lamp to test it.here is a link to the user manual:
Hope this helps. :}
