    Hello

I have a Hotpoint Aquarius VTD00 6kg Tumble Dryer recently their has been a grinding noise (only at the end of the drying cycle) now it has stopped spinning altogether. I have checked the fan and heating element both are working fine. Please can you give me advice.

    Regards

I have a hotpoint VTD00 tumble dryer and it is heating up but the drum isn't spinning and smells of burning. Thanks, Annmarie

The belt is probably worn out and is slipping, the smell is from the belt slipping on the drum.

HOTPOINT Aquarius VTD00 Model. The dryer is producing heat but the barrel is not revolving

hello, first thing to check is the long pin on the inside of the door make sure it's not snaped off, 2nd thing is the belt inside the dryer . if these are both ok then it's possible that the capacitor next to the motor could be faulty give a tap to see if the motor turns good luck

Dryer wont heat up on a aquarius VTD00, do you think its the element

A tumble dryer that isn't heating up at all needs checking with a continuity test meter. The most common cause is a heating element failure, or t.o.c's going open circuit. . Some tumble dryers have heating elements that are easily accessible by removing the back panel, and can be tested for continuity or checked for obvious breakage. Others though have their heating elements inside, which aren't accessible without stripping the dryer down. Tumble dryer heating elements are always protected by thermal fuses which are usually simple devices with 2 wires connected. They can be tested for continuity with a test meter. Also overloading and blocked filters can lead to thermo cut out, it is best to check your manual and call someone out on this occasion. You may even have a red reset button on the rear of your machine some models do, if yours doesnt then call out engineer :)

Hotpoint Aquarius 1100 WM63. fills with water...I dont think it is heating water...rarely rotates and spins (saw it once in early stage of J prog only) seems to fill and empty but no rotate or spin....

if it fill with water then stops it is the ellement the machine first fills turns the drum then heats up the thermostat cuts in and the it emptys rinses and spins so if it does not get to temp it will stop or continue to wash forever

Dryer not spinning

ok this sounds simple
if the dryer stopped spining there are 4 things to look at
1 the belt for dryer if this snapped the drum will stop spining
2 the dryer wheels these ware down and break off this is what helps keep dryer in a spin straight
3 this is the crucial one the motor siezed up from lack of appliance oil not being added to a regular maintenance
4 the guages has stopped working but i doubt this if it still keeps a timer going round this would not be it you dont have to run dryer to test guages just set guage to a time and see if it rotates with the time on it
the belt you can check your self by pulling down the dryer pan that will show bottom of dryer with belt if its a belt simple maytag can come out and do a replacement and maintenance on the spot
i hope this helped seeing im not there to actually see in person whats actually wrong

Hotpoint aquarius vtd00 dryer starts ok then slows down and stops

sounds like your bearings have gone at the back off your drum behind the small middle panel try turning it by hand if it starts scrapping straight away then u need to replace the bearings m8
