Hmm it might be, but 4 hours is way too long.

I'd suggest putting it in DFU mode

connect to PC or MAC

hold sleep/wake+Home button for 10 seconds

release sleep/wake but CONTINUE HOLDING HOME

after a while itunes will say it's detected an iphone in recovery mode. Restore from here.

Forgotten your Apple iPhone PIN code? This is the solution

It happens all the time: you think putting a PIN code on your mobile device is a sensible, secure idea but then you forget what you have set it as 2 minutes after it is applied or a child has been messing with your device and set a code and now it's locked.

There is a simple solution to fixing this problem but it does require your Apple iPhone to be wiped which is not an issue if you have recently sync'd with iTunes.

  1. Plug your iPhone into your PC/Mac
  2. With the iPhone still connected turn the iPhone off
  3. Press and hold the home button and then power the iPhone on
  4. Keep holding the home button until the iPhone displays a symbol asking you to plug it into the USB
  5. iTunes should now automatically open, if it doesn't open it now
  6. iTunes should only display one screen which allows you to restore your iPhone back to its original factory state
  7. The restore process can take a bit of time but once it has finished and restarted, just perform a sync via iTunes and your device should be returned to it's original state minus a PIN code

Yesterday my iPhone 3G died (like it usually does) then when I plugged it into my car charger it wouldn't come on. Tried a different car charger, still didn't work. Sometimes it'd show the apple symbol and...

Sounds like your battery has failed.

Your SIM card may store your contacts, but your music is stored onto your phone's internal memory.

I 4got my iphone passcode......plz...help me ...>>>>

If it's disabled you have to p ut it in recovery mode before you can restore it. Turn off, then press and hold menu and plug in the usb cord. keep holding until the sync cable logo appears on screen, then restore it through itunes. If the issue persists after a software restore in recovery Mode, there might be an issue with your logic board. Apple will help you with this because it is so new. However if you dropped it in water (etc.) and if apple doesn't replace it for you, you can get the part at iPhone Repair NYC and there is a guide that shows you how to put in the part at iPod touch 4G Repair Guide.

I droped my iphone and screen turned white. what can i do to get it working again?

From Apple Support:
Display shows a white screen
  1. Turn iPhone off and turn it on again.
  2. If the iPhone will not turn off, try to reset it. Press and hold the Sleep/Wake button and the Home button at the same time for at least ten seconds, until either the Apple log or battery symbol appears. If the battery symbol appears, continue to charge iPhone until it is fully charged.
  3. If that doesn't work, try restoring the device.

Iphone bottom half not responding

whatever the issue is you cannot resolve yourself. Either there is a loose/faulty cable or LCD display on the phone, or it may have been caused by a fall of some sorts. If there is no visible damage to the phone (cracks, dents, excessive scrathes, etc) it will be covered under the Applecare warranty since it has to be less than a year old.

Bring it to the nearest Apple store, or call AppleCare at 1-800-275-2273
