Re: Power

Hi Zulydia,

does that version has the "restore" red button in the upper side?
If yes, when you push it, the engine showld work for litle time only (restoring), then the rest is normal. If not, the engine can be clogged, wich needs to be opened and cleaned (tuff operation but easy). Normally it happens when the engine has a overheat.

Sebo Vacuum runs intermittently and keeps cutting out and restarting

There could be numerous reasons for this. What I would try in this order to help troubleshoot is this:

1. If you wiggle the power cord near where it inserts into the vacuum cleaner itself, does the vacuum turn on and off constantly? If so, you have a damaged cord or loose connections that need to be fixed.
2. Has the bag been emptied, and if the vacuum has a filter element, has this been cleaned? Vacuums may cutout if they get too hot. A vacuum can overheat if either the bag is full, the filter is blocked, or there are other obstructions to airflow, which cause the motor to work harder and draw more voltage, resulting in more heat. It may have a thermal cutoff which is tripping constantly. Solution is to ensure bag is not full, or less than 3/4 full, any air filters are cleaned and check for any other obstructions in the air flow paths.
3. Ensure the power supply is adequate for the vacuum. Try running it without long extension cords if you have been using those.
4. Check and clean the switch. Sticky or dust contacts on switches can cause variable cycling (cutting out and restarting).

Hope that helps!

I have a Rainbow E2 which I purchased in early October. My Power Nozzle is not working right. When I used it before, it pulled, now it barely moves on its own. I cleaned all the hair off of it and it...

Does the brush turn freely when you try to manually turn it?
Does it rotate when the power nozzle motor is on?
If not, it's most likely the belt that turnd the brush has broken. This will result in the brush not rotating, which in turn doesn't provide the pulling action and ease of use it's supposed to have.
If it's a new machine, you need to take it to the nearest Rainbow store for warranty repair. Disassembling yourself will result in the warranty being voided.

My Rainbow E Series-Model E2. Just recently notice that when I go around a chair or bump into a wall it stops. Also when I turn it on. I have to reach from the bottom and push the pan up for it to start....

Possible that it needs a much needed maintenance, remove the pan up and clean up all the clogged dirt in the system, clean up the filter, use a good brush to wipe out all dirt and check if wires are damaged in the feed. Check the switch and reset back filters.
If the fault is recurring the motor must be checked for weakness, might need a brush up.

My rainbow isn't sucking very well and the power head smells like

Hi there SmartAlec from here. I think that if it is not doing a good job the most likely cause is that the belt in the powerbrush is broken. If you turn the unit on does the brush under the head turn (really quickly). If it does not it will be the belt. Just remove the cover and slip a new belt on. This should improve results about a million times. Hope this helps. Happy vacuuming :)
p.s. dont hesitate to send me a follow up request if this doesnt help. That machine should work nothing short of amazing.

Suction paower

First thing is to check all your hoses, and filters. Filters rob your vacuum of air flow which equals power.. I don't think that you have a clog so much as I am inclined to think that you have dirty filters. In a wet vac, you can rinse your filters out, but they will eventually need replaced. It's a good idea to have an extra filter around for such an instance.

This one does not have the tabs to depress as but has two screws in that area still doesn’t see how to get to the filter. Also I need instructions to replace power cord; On the E series single speed.

I would advise you to ALWAYS to FIRST UNPLUG YOUR VACUUM before beginning any service procedure. On the Rainbow E Series there really is no actual filter – the water is the filter for this particular vacuum. Before you remove the separator under the motor, place a newspaper or towel under the Rainbow without the water pan under the vacuum and then turn it on for a short period of time and spin the water moisture out of the motor and separator; then some of the maintenance is to remove the separator under the motor and clean that and then replace it. As far as replacing the cord there are screws under the Rainbow that need removal and then you can get to the end of the cord for replacement. The easiest way is to mark your wires and the cord will be much easier to replace otherwise check the owner’s manual for cord replacement or check with your local vacuum cleaner dealer in your area or to cal the cust serv @ the Rainbow factory for questions.

U5180-910 vacuum shuts off on own

I had same problem. Turned out to be the filter that sits above the waste cannister. Remove the waste cannister. There is a little orange lever that releases the filter. It was caked with dirt not allowing any air flow causing the motor to overheat.

This foam filter gets dirty pretty fast.
