Whenever i connect my Iphone to the laptop, the screen goes blue for a split second then it totally dies then reboots. it will keep dying and rebooting until i disconnect the iphone. I have plugged my iphone into other Laptops and PC's and they all work fine. I have also plugged other devices including my 2 ipods into my laptop and everything is ok, just got a problem when iphone and my Acer laptop connect. Please help. I need to update my Iphone.... Thanks

When i plug my new iphone into the computer it shuts it down. My computer will restart and windows gives me the error message "driver error" and that this is a safety precaution. I have windpws xp. The computer works fine as long as the iphone is not plugged in. I've tried different ports, taking down the firewall and resetting the iphone. My next step it to take the computer to a repair shop. Any ideas?

I just recently got an iPhone, it worked fine initally when I would connect it to the computer. Now it restarts when I plug it in, and says that I have a camera driver error..

    Pretty frustrating!

  • Anonymous Apr 09, 2009

Absolutely worked. Did not have to delete photos in folders, just from the camera roll. WONDERFUL, thanks for the solution. I phoned Dell and gave them the answer too, since I spent 3 hours with them yesterday to no avail.

MUCH BETTER SOLUTION:
1. Sometimes iphone connection software( espescially on the camera roll) can be confused with software from other drivers such as webcam drivers. LOGITECH ESPESCIALLY
2. If you do have logitech installed or any other webcam then uninstall all software from this.
3. To do this : Go to start, control panel, add/remove programs and select the logitech or any other software affiliated with the webcam . Uninstall it and then restart your computer.
4. Your problem should now be fixed.

p.s. I had been trying for ages until i found this simple solution which worked instantly.

Andrew, thank you very much. No need to delete any photos as others suggested. Just removing the Logitech Webcam drivers and related software. Works perfect. You solved my problem. Thanks again. Dejan

A couple of things to try.

Try resetting the iphone by holding down the home button and the power button at the same time until you see the apple logo.

Also, if you have any photos that you have taken with the iphone still on the iphone, email them you yourself then delete them off the iphone.

Once you have emailed them to yourself, delete them off the iphone and connect to computer.
Worked for me.

This is annoying, with the older generation iPhones, there is a program that grabs the photos off the phone! Why is it with the NEWER better iPhone that we have to delete everything before connecting? I've been doing this since I bought the phone... has no one come up with a solution to the problem other than just emailing and deleting? It takes a lot of time to send 25 pictures to yourself one by one and then delete them all just to add a new album or app to the phone... Any other techy help? To FIX it, not "cover it up with newspaper", so to speak??

It sounds like your usb port is damaged. Look in the port and see if there is any visible damage. Also, check the usb cord for the iphone and see if it is damaged.

The flashlight app does not download to my phone. It goes right back from a few circles around "install" to "get", it also does not want my apple id and password. Any help on how to overcome this?

-Try resetting your iPhone.
-Press the Power Button (on top) and the Menu Button (under the screen) simultaneously for a flex seconds until your iPhone shuts down and reboots.
-If it doesn't auto reboot, press the Power Button on top of your iPhone to get it on.
-Wait, and give you're phone time to boot.
-Unlock your phone
-Try installing the app again.

This kind of reset will keep all data and settings on your phone. You won't lose any data.

My game keeps on playing then in thirty seconds it takes me back to the iPhone home can u please help me and if u can't can u send me their email

First try to do a hard reboot of your phone by holding the power button and the hold button at the same time until it shuts down and wait for it to reboot. If that doesn't work, you most likely need to sync and do an iOS update. You should sync your iPhone about once per week and it probably wouldn't hurt to check the app store for an update for the game.

Apple 3G iphone remain blank

Does it appear to have a faint back light visible?
If so you can restart / reboot and refresh the I Phone which should clear this by holding down the power button and home key at the same time. Keep holding them both until the device restarts and shows the apple logo. This should bring it back? Smart phones generally need rebooting when crazy things start to happen. As I Phone is sealed unit this will simulate a forced shut down which is usually done by removing battery on most phones.
Hope that helps?

Hold Power and Home buttons together for 15 seconds to reboot

Nov 18, 2009 | Apple iPhone 3G

Battery issue still cannot be solved, hard reboot tried.

Have you tried all the resets:(if you have, bring back to the Apple store)
If iPhone won't turn on, or the display freezes or doesn't respond
  1. Press and hold the Home button for at least six seconds, until the application you were using quits.
  2. If that doesn't work, turn iPhone off and turn it on again. Press and hold the Sleep/Wake button on top of iPhone for a few seconds until a red slider appears, and then slide the slider. Then press and hold the Sleep/Wake button until the Apple logo appears.
  3. If that doesn't work, reset iPhone. Press and hold the Sleep/Wake button and the Home button at the same time for at least ten seconds, until the Apple logo appears

More resets:
Try This:
1. Remove Sim Card
2. Hold in 'Home' button and 'On/Off' button together until Apple logo appears
3. Replace Sim Card
4. Hold in 'Home' button and 'On/Off' button together until normal phone screen appears.

Also, Try this:
1.) Shut down the iPhone 3G.
2.) Start up iTunes
3.) Hold down HOME button on the iPhone 3G
4.) While keeping the HOME button depressed, plug in the Sync cable
5.) A message will pop up to ask if you want to reset.
6.) Just click YES and the reset process should start.

Iphone Jailbreaking Gone bad HELP

First, calm down, grab a cola and chill for a second.
Ok, most likely you have down what I have down and unplugged the iPhone before all the jailbroken data was downloaded and setup.
Follow these steps, yes they work I've had to do this twice now.

NOTE: You need to be plugged up to your computer for this to work

1. Hold down the POWER and HOME buttons untils your phone reboots.

2. Hold POWER button until the iPhone powers OFF

3. Hold POWER and HOME buttons, iPhone will now power on.

4. When you see the apple logo, release the POWER button but keep holding the home button.

5. iTunes should alert you now saying that it has found an iPhone in recovery mode, proceed to recover as normal now.

Also the iPhone screen may go white after doing this until restored, this is normal, it's not broken.

Unfortunately firmware updates and driver updates for IPhones can be fickled on Windows OS, try rollback the firmware/driver update and see if you are still getting the error. If not you may want to research if the IPhone site has a FAQ or Troubleshooting solution for this.

Make sure you've got the latest version of Itunes installed, if you have Itunes on your PC at all.

Try changing your drive letters: Click Start, click Control Panel, and then click Performance and Maintenance. Make sure you are in Category View. Click Administrative Tools, double-click Computer Management, and then click Disk Management in the left pane. Right-click the drive, the partition and then click Change Drive Letter and Paths. Click Change. Click Assign the following drive letter if it is not already selected, click the drive letter that you want to use, and then click OK. Click Yes when you are prompted to confirm the drive letter change.

Try the IPhone now.
