Our Philips 42PFL5432D TV won't turn on. The power light is red, and reacts to the remote...(we can see it blinking) , but the TV will not come on. This happens when we press the power botton as well. Same blinking.. but no power. It has happened periodically since we purchased the TV, but now it will not power up at all. Help!!

The TV is in some kind of protection mode, the blinking LED show you an error code.
Try pressing 062596 and then press menu button (do these in quick motion, don't let them to time out while keying)...see what happens
Well I think that if you would have a service manual for this set that would help a lot, I can send it to anyone who wants it via email/gmail. Let me know if anyone want one.

I also heard that this problem appeared with some people because the of the burnt fuse in the TV. To fix that it has to be taken to the tech shop. tv. does not turn on sometimes? philips 63pf9631d/ - mecry.gif

And yes I also heard about this issue many times, seems like this TV set is very popular with this kind of problem.

I have a Philips model 63PF9631D/37 (Ominivision). The green light that appears on the front right of the tv when you turn it on goes red and blinks 6 times slow and 3 times fast. I have to unplub it...

The main power supply is on the edge of death. If it proceeds as is common, eventually it will not turn on at all. This is often caused by cheap passive components called capacitors. This may be on a separate board so if you want to access it, unplug the set overnight, then remove the back panel and look for a smaller board with larger components on it. Check on the board for an assembly number, find the closest Philips (or Funai) service center and ask them if they have an exchange program or a new power supply available. Connectors used are generally not interchangeable so reconnection should not be a problem or take several snapshots of the board before removing it.

The Samsung LN40B540P8F I would rate a 9. Only God is 10.

All the DLP sets, you can throw out

All the Older Projection sets you can throw out

I would take the rest for scrap parts.

I hope this is helpful.

The menu keeps going up and down on its own and menu pops up, even turning the tv off sometimes it will come back on

Hi gt
To answer your question;
We`re getting to see this problem more and more often on philips tv`s, and it usually has to do with software upgrade.
With your tv`s model number you can go on philips website and download the upgrade at the address below:
http://www.support.philips.com/support/catalog/downloads_catalog.jsp;jsessionid=8888F7981C720E8018961175739D41D6.app106-drp2?groupId=SOUND_AND_VISION_GR_US_CARE&userCountry=us&categoryid=TV_CA_US_CARE&navAction=push&pageFrom=downloads&navCount=1&userLanguage=en
You will need a usb flash drive/memory stick to do this procedure and there is a file on how to do it.
If you have problems with it , let me have your model# and i`ll help you.
Hope this help good luck

Philips 50 Inch Plasma Model 50PF7320A/37 will not turn on

Commonly it's going to be a power supply related problem. The two boards that need to be looked at is the Main Power Supply Board or the power supply board for the screen. The one that powers the screen, some manufactures call it a Backlight Inverter Board.
If you have some electronic experience, you can sometimes find a Service Manual for the TV over the internet for less than $20. It will have the all resource material for repairing your TV model. It's just the matter of replacing the bad part on the circuit board.

Philips 42PF9956/37 Plasma TV - Looking for y sustain board

it isnt the Y-SUS board, it is the Power supply, iv fixed this exact problem twice in the last month, try turning the tv on, and when it turns green, unplug it real fast, while light is still green, after 15 seconds plug it back in, then hit the power button, if it dont come on, hit the power button again, this time, as soon as it turns off, hit the power button again to turn back on, sometimes you can trick the tv and it will turn on, at least i was able to do it, and once it comes on, it should work fine, untill you turn it off again.
