SkyCaddie SG4 won't show distance

(I HAVE A SOLUTION)I had this problem as well. I couldn't renew after a year. The problem was they changed the software for the sg4 on the website, but that software won't work with the firmware on the older devices. They figured people would just buy the new one when they realized the old one was outdated. No big deal, they thought, since that's just technology. (cell phones outdate after a year - why not this little overpriced (by $200.00) device but golfers pay it anyway, right? UNNACCEPTABLE!. Sky golf is as deceptive a company I've ever dealt with. I have felt this from my first contact with them almost a year ago, trying to get the thing to work right for all these months. After many frustrating attempts I emailed peter jacobson, who endorsed this thing big time, and no doubt is still earning royalties from it, and although he didn't personally respond, his office promptly wrote an email to skygolf. Skygolf in turn contacted me and sent me a new device at no charge with the updated firmware and gave me 60 days free service, with a lengthy apology. You may not need to bother Jacobsens office with this, if you contact a supervisor (they are human) and threaten to do this perhaps they'll take care of it. Try that first. (I also wrote a complaint to Consumer Protection - I don't know if that had anything to do with their prompt reply to me or not, but I did finally g0t satisfaction) and this thing now is as accurate as ever, and works perfectly - and if I can get it to last another year or so, I might even say it was worth the $350.00 I spent on it. (but not the frustration I had to go through since the thing was new)
