Make sure, that on the wheel at the top that the wrench symbol is the selected one...instead of in normal picture taking mode.

Make sure camera is turned on and you set it to mass storage device.
Usb cable may be faulty try/borrow another one.
Try another device with that usb cable. Your usb on pc may be faulty or you need to update drivers.

You don't. The camera records pics and videos for later transfer to a computer, not for live streaming.

Well, i have a vivicam 8025 but it didnt come with a usb port wire so how do i transfer my pics to my pc

If there is a memory card in the camera, you can use this to transfer to your computer. You must also have a card reader to be able to put the card in and it will read. You may have one on the front of your computer or one on the front of your printer. Some cell phones and MP3's have the same USB wire needed for cameras. Check around and see if the wire will fit.

Consider NOT connecting your camera to your computer.

The best way to download pictures from your camera to your computer involves removing the memory card from the camera and plugging it into a card reader (either built-in to the computer or connected via USB or FireWire). This is likely to be faster than connecting the camera to the computer, and won't run down your camera's batteries.

Once the card is plugged in, it will appear to your computer as a removable drive. You can use the operating system's drag&drop facility to copy pictures from the card to the computer's hard drive, the same way you copy any other files. Or you can use any photo cataloging program such as Picasa.

Vivtar 4345 wont turn back on!!!

Are you certain that when you plugged the camera back into the PC you switched the top icon to the wrench symbol? In order for the camera to communicate to the PC it should be on that symbol.

Selecting the "format" option in the menu will wipe off your images. basically it reformats the memory card. I would get a card reader, if you havent done so already. I worked with a student today & for some reason we couldn't transfer images from his camera directly to computer via usb + we were getting some error messages when trying to do so. So, I ended up taking his memory card out & used a memory card reader to transfer the images to 'puter and it worked fine.
