no freon.. pressure test w/ nitrogen. 8000 btus is now junk. Spend the money on new unit otherwise find the leak. It leaked out thats why the compressor will never go on. Once you add freon she'll turn on...same as car.
Dont buy that name brand again. best of luck to you

I guess I'll have to buy a new AC but not LG. It doesn't pay to fix it when you can buy a new one for a good price.

What is your ambiant room temperature ? Have you made sure the thermostat is set properly ? if th e setting is too high (higher than your room temperature) the compressor will not come on. To rule out compressor problems, try lowering the thermostat settings to the lowest settings - For some ACs it is 19C, for others 16C, find your lowest setting, making sure it is lower than your room temperature - this will force the compressor on. If that does not work - unplug your unit for 30 minutes. Plug it back on and try again making sure to set your thermostat again - you will need to have your unit serviced - it's difficult to determine the problem without seeing it - it could be a thermostat problem / relay problem not turning on the compressor or in worst cases a shot compressor
Hello,I am Ron,check the 220 breaker, sometimes half the breaker will trip, and the other side is sill giving out put of 110 volts. The compressor would never come on.But the fan would blow.If all that checks out .Two possible causes, the compressor has gone out,or the start-run capacitor is bad,Either way,you might need to take it to the shop.Did you not get a extended warranty? If not ,it is generally worth it,next time you buy a new ac unit.If this is a 110 unit then all I mentioned about 220 volt ac units is out the window, except about the capacitor being bad or compressor.I hope this is helpful.

my whirlpool window a/c unit runs part of the time. Problem seems to be in the ground fault plug which has test/reset button. This is 220v, 25000 BTU sytem. Would it hurt to take off the ground fault plug and connect regular 220 plug
