Furnace problem I have a carrier weathermaker 8000 furnace that is coming on for about 1 minute, shutting off for 20 sec., then coming right back on. The air seems to be warm at first, but then it starts blowing room temperature air.

Clean sensor with steel wool. It is the one that looks like a mini spark plug and has one blue wire to it. Fixed mine.

First of all are your burners coming on or do you hear you combustion motor running? You need to identify if you have burners coming on. If you do it sounds like your flame sensor is not sensing. If you don't your venting situation thru your combustion motor is not satisfying your circuit board.

After 18 years of service, it is not cost effective to just replace the heat exchanger. Go the complete replacement route. There may be a utility company incentive to do it.

Funace keeps shutting down

Restarting after removing the power is how the equipment is designed to operate because removing power temporarily clears the fault code. Not starting could be caused by a number of built in safety devices such as roll out switches or partially blocked flue pipe. I've seen them with bird's nest in it. This should be looked at by a trained professional.

I have a carrier 58RAV050-12 and my furnace won't turn on. It was working earlier today but it just stopped. Any suggestions as to why?

Check the pilot lt. If its out shutdown your furnace and call a repairman. If the pilot light is on, the flame sensor might have gone out. It's a long silver sensor that sits in the pilot light flame and senses when the flame is present. If it isn't working the furnace will automatically shut down.

Code 32 when wind blows

Hi and welcome to Fixya. I believe that the wind is affecting the draft. What I would recommend is to install a cap on the flue that is similar to a weather vane in that it rotates to block the wind from creating a downdraft in the flue. Some times depending on the direction and strength of the wind it will come up over the roof peak and then down the flue. A regular fixed cap may work too. You should be able to purchase one at your local hardware store. Please let me know if this was helpful. Good luck.
