Re: jvc kdg162

I had this very same problem and just fixed it.
Turn on radio, Push the SRC button until the ILL comes on.
While that is flashing push either I/ K or stations up / down buttons
you will then see DE O will cancel the demo mode.
You can then go back and select the color you prefer.
Press and hold SRC button until ILL appears. While holding SRC
button down select ILL 1 for BLUE ILL 2 for RED. Display will flash twice
when set.

These directions (Turning Demo Off) are printed on the Table on Contense page
lower right corner.
Selecting color is under OTHER FUNCTIONS,

Good luck, be patient. I did it and I have big fingers.

Make sure you have hooked up your memory power wire to a source of 12 volts that does not go away when the ignition switch is turned off. I suspect that is your problem. Your main power wire will of course need to go cold when the ignition switch is turned off.

How to set the color on my faceplate. It contnues to change color

You're stuck in DEMO mode. When you see stereo's on display at a store it is set to a DEMO mode that cycles through colors, functions, etc so that potential customers can see the different aspects of the unit. To get it to stop changing colors you'll have to go into the menu and turn DEMO OFF.

How do you set the clock on a jvc kd-g230 car radio

There is a misprint on manual concerning setting the clock. This is the case for similar JVC mobile head units.

The proper way to set the clock for this unit is:

1.)Hold down 'SEL' button count to 3 seconds
2.)Immediately after release of 'SEL' button hit the '>>|' button

This will allow you to enter 'PSM' menu. Every time you press '>>|' it will cycle between, 'CLOCK HOUR','CLOCK MINUTE', and 'Demo' Mode.

3.)Adjust settings by using the 'turn knob' and make sure 'Demo' mode is set to 'Demo Off' for the clock to stay set.

Setting the clock of JVC KD-G125 does anyone know what and how?

to adjust the PSM (preferred setting mode) items, press and hold the select button (SEL) for 5 should see one of the items DEMO (default item) displayed on the display the Up/Down or Forward/Reverse buttons (^ or >>| or |<< ie.. it is the one you use to change the radio stations) to scroll to the PSM items DEMO-->CLOCK H-->CLOCK M-->L/O MODE-->AMP GAIN...when the PSM item you want to adjust displays on the window, CLOCK H for hours or CLOCK M for minutes for this case, use the control dial (volume knob) to change the setting...after adjusting the correct the SEL button again to end the procedure

How do I stop the JVC from wasting the readout on KM200?

Hello mwalkercom

It sounds like your JVC is still set for factory default which is "DEMO" mode.

To cancel the DEMO, you need to go into PSM (personal settings mode).

1) Press and hold SEL until the display changes.
2) Press left/right rocker until DEMO is displayed.
3) Turn volume knob to change to DEMO OFF.
4) Press SEL briefly to exit.

Now you can use the DISP button to change the display to show the options you desire.

Hope this helps.
