Not sure what type of audio system you are refering to, however, if it is an AV receiver, get into the systems main setup menu and toggle to "Audio" or "Input Selection" and set audio to either "Analog" or "Auto". If this does not help, post a comment with the make and model of the system in question and I can help you further. Hope this helps.

my bose lifestylecontrol unit shows "vcr PCM 2.0" when I am trying to watch a movie using my sony playstation hd player. As such, NO sound is coming through the bose speakers--only sound through the tv. How can I get the volume to come through the bose speakers when the input is in "VCR" mode when watching a movie??
