Borland wont open on vista laptop

I have recently bought a colour formulation cd rom for my paint business. However the laptop I want to run this on wont install the program, it brings up an error message during installation, to say that it cant open the Borland application folder. yes you've guessed it, the operatiing system is Vista.
can you think of any way round this, as the use of this colour system is crucial to my business, and at present its costing me money by not using.

the paint system is Standox. The cdrom/program is Standowin.

problem sorted.
ran setup as admisinistrator in compatability wizard. and it runs no probs now.

-   Hi please can you help, I have tried your advice and install using the compatability wizard tool but still cannot manage to get the program running successfully. I have both 2006 and 2007 versions of Stanowin software for STANDOX colour information. The following error message appears when I run the software 'Network Initialization Failed Permission Denied File:C:\PDOXUSRS.NET Directory:C:\
Please can you provide a step by step instructions how to get this software to run correctly on my vista laptop as its crucial to my business-   RH1NO

try to use compatibility mode.
rightclick the needed executables, press compatibility and then select windows XP or another windows os
