Put something underneath the front of the unit (like a magazine) so it tilts slightly this should allow the water to get to the condenser area and be evaporated out the vent.

SOURCE: air conditioner is leaking but lights not blinking

Make sure the drainage port is closed as per the instructions. If you continue to have leakage you may have a leak in the tank.

SOURCE: rv air conditioner leaking

I have the same problem....it is a negative pressure problem holding water inside the unit until it overflows the pan and runs into the duct system. why this occurs....I don't know....I cant find a problem with my air return, but as soon as you turn in off, the water comes gushing out the drains on the unit. I resolved this....temporarily....by twisting up a paper towel into a wick, and placing one end up into the drain tray, with the other end lying well out into the exterior case. This lets the water wick out and keeps the tray drained. I don't understand the problem and don't know what the permanent fix will be, except maybe cutting a hole and placing an intake vent directly below the unit.

the vent is a fresh air intake, when it is pulled open you are mixing outdoor air in the unit. when it is hot and humid outside you will make the unit struggle to cool. Leave the vent closed.

SOURCE: TCL model tac 24chs/k air conditioner is leaking from the

You will want to remove the panel in front of the air handler, usually a few 5/16 screws.
Once open then with a flashlight look down inside where the water collects in the condensate drain pan.
Verify that the pan is not full of water or algae build up.
If it is, then attach a wet vac to your drain outside and while it is pulling on the drain line spray some water inside till it is fully clean.
If it is not full of water then check the pvc pipes that are attached to the drain pan, they may have came loose and may need to be teflon taped and reconnected to the pan. Also verify there are no cracks in the pan.
Lastly inspect the bottom of the evaporator coil (Not the top) pull out the filter and make sure the coil is clean or water could drip down past the pan into your dwelling. Make sure as well that the insulation on your panel that covers the unit is intact and not worn away.

Good Luck!

PAC CT-90 Air conditioner My CT90 is leaking

When you air condition, you essentially remove heat from the "inside air" and transfer it to the "outside air". from a google search this thing is sort of like a window air conditioner, but the hot air is sent outside via a vent hose, so the unit can be located away from the window. Any time you cool air, it holds less water, so depending on the humidity, there will be condensate formed, the question is, how is it dealt with. In window air conditioners, you see it dripping from the back side when it is running. For your unit, is it unclear how the condensate is being removed; maybe hot air going outside is directed across where the condensate collects and it is assumed it will evaporate and be vented outside as vapor? First, check and see if the unit is still under warrantee, if so, contact them and see how to get it fixed (if you mess with it, it might void the warrantee). If it has expired or the company is out of business, etc, you can try opening it up and see what is going on. The water collects under the evaporator (the fins where cold air comes out). Underneath there should be some kind of tray or something that collects the condensate and directs it somewhere in the unit for it to be gotten rid of. I'm thinking something is cracked, leaking or come loose, letting the water escape and run out. If that is the case, you might be able to use silicone seal or something like it to seal the leak. Hopefully, it is something simple like that.

I have an kenmore elite A100E portable air conditioner. I have two questions; 1- It drains water from the back pipe outlet which makes my floor wet. How to collect this drained water to stop it damaging...

Yes is does work as a dehumidifier, when it's in dehumidifier mode. Using just the AC mode, will slow up the collect ion of water some. However, the tank will still need to be drained occasionally. There are 2 ways to train the tank.

1. In to a low sided pan or bowl, capable of holding at least 1 quart of water.

2. Roll the unit to a floor drain or outside to drain the bucket.

Hope this helps and thanks for choosing FixYa.

Why does the air conditioner leak water from behind the unit. My air conditioner is placed in a wall and the back end of the conditioning unit sticks out inside the garage. I have ventilation by...

It is normal for an air conditioner to leak water out the back. This water is actually the humidity being taken out of your house. Being vented out in to the garage is always an issue with condensate water. I have seen some people take a funnel and run a hose outside the garage somewhere. Keep the vent closed. It will be harder to cool the house with the vent open because it lets outside air in to the house.

I have purchased a Kenmore Elite A100E floor model airconditioner and when it is running water pours out from where the wheel castors are connected underneath the unit??

This also happen to me and it means that your drain is clogged it needs to be cleaned out. Your grill in unit could be dirty and probably needs to be cleaned also.It is really simply but might sound complicated it's not and if it is not under warranty it would be cheaper to do it yourself. You need to take offf the sides and get a little flash light one of the sides have the drain hole and you get like a piece of wire or something like that, something thin to dig out what is clogging the hole & get a small dust brush or vacuum the dust from the grill and drain the air conditioner put the plug or stopper back in and put the sides back on and screw them into place and everything such be fine.
