So you've got that brand new shiny TomTom, turned it on, and .... OOPS! ... somehow you've selected the wrong language. Suddenly the entire interface is (literally) in some foreign language and you can't figure out how to get back to English. This has happened to quite a few people recently, so here is a short tutorial on how to get back to US English.TomTom Main MenuIf the device is currently turned on and you are anywhere but the primary map/driving view, it might be helpful to turn the device off. Then you can turn it back on to get yourself to the map/driving view. Now click anywhere on the map to take you to the Main Menu. Depending on the language you picked and your device, it should look something like the image on the right. Click on the wrench icon (highlighted in red here) which will take you to the 'Change Preferences' menu.TomTom Change LanguageNow that you are in the Change Preferences menu, keep tapping on the right arrow button to cycle through the menu until you see an icon with three flags on it. In the main menu after the title comes up and you have to push A, go to the fourth menu item down, (this is the language option)

English is the third option down.

Remove any disk and close the disk tray. Turn off your system and let it sit for a few seconds before turning it back on. Select the "Language" option from the main menu to open the language menu.
Move the cursor up using the directional pad on your controller until you get to "Language Select." Push the X button repeatedly until it lists "ENGLISH." This changes the audio settings from English to Spanish.
Scroll down to the "Subtitles" option in the language menu and change this setting to Spanish as well. The subtitles will appear in ENGLISH at the bottom of the screen every time a character in the game speaks. If you wish, you can skip this step and rely only on the audio settings.
Press the Circle button on your controller to move back to the main menu, which will save the settings. Select the correct time and date setting for your time zone, if the system asks you to do so. Push the Circle button again to access the main menu.
Place a PS2 game into your console and let the game load. You should now have ENGLISH, settings on your PS2, including subtitles.

Load up the game and do the following.
1. At the main menu choose the 3rd option "Optionen".
2. Then 3rd down "Sprache".
3. And "English".
4. Enjoy your English Indy.

In the menu, you should find the settings for language.

Now, If you don't speak German, this can be a problem.

If you use your computer to translate, you can do it.

Go to http://babelfish.yahoo.com/ and select the languages as required (German to English). Enter the commands you see on the TomTom, and navigate that was until you see the language settings.

If you accidentally set iPod nano to use a language you don’t understand
You can reset the language.
1 Press and hold Menu until the main menu appears.
2 Choose the sixth menu item (Settings).
3 Choose the last menu item (Reset Settings).
4 Choose the first item (Reset) and select a language.
Other iPod nano settings, such as song repeat, are also reset.
Note: If you added or removed items from the iPod nano main menu (see “Adding or
Removing Items on the Main Menu” on page 11) the Settings menu item may be in a
different place. If you can’t find the Reset Settings menu item, you can restore
iPod nano to its original state and choose a language. See “Updating and Restoring
iPod Software” on page 69.

You can compare the arabic version of the user manual - available on Sandisk's website - with the English user manual:
Language
1. Press Menu button to return to the Main Menu.
2. Move to Settings and select it.
3. Select Language.
4. Select a desired language.

i have mine in german, so i know how to get it back and fourth without looking. here's what you do. hold menu, until you have reached the main menu. scroll all the way down, and up one. that's the settings menu. press the center button to navigate there. scroll all the way down to the bottom again, and up 2. this is the Language menu. press the center button to navigate there. there is a list of languages, English is at the top. press it and your ipod has been set to english.

You find Change Language from the Preferences menu from the main menu. You may need to switch on Show All Menu Options in order to see it. Again, this is from the Preferences menu.
